WKRC Eyewitness 12 News Promo - Nick Clooney (1978)
Просмотров 6 тыс.13 лет назад
Solo lead anchor, Nick Clooney is featured in this Eyewitness 12 News Promo from the sping of 1978. The personable and professional Mr. Clooney is better known by some to be the brother of the late singer Rosemary Clooney, and the father of the actor, George Clooney. You can see a brief shot of (then) current mayor (and now current talk-show host) Jerry Springer in this clip. Incidentally, Jerr...

Whatever happened to Jack Cafferty of Live at Five?
George Clooney's dad and Miguel Ferrer's uncle.
Ernie Anastos is a legend. Also, R.I.P. Michele Marsh and Dr Frank Field.
WHAT?!? TERRY MCSWEENEY IN CALIFORNIA?!? Cool!
Pre-9/11 stuff.😎

I remember when Sylvia Chase left ABC for our local KRON. Shocked the hell out of me.
Dennis Richmond.
0:06 LOL at KGO calling their meteorologists "naturalists"...
I hope y’all will reply to this the CBS comedy WKRP in Cincinnati had an episode talking about this subject
I hope y’all will reply to this is Joan Esposito Italian???????!!!!
She is.
RiP Joel Bartlett.
I don’t remember the year, but channel 7 news anchor Valerie Coleman was a hottie!!!!!!!!!!
This was the last season Ch 2 aired Wheel of Fortune at 7:30
KOMO-TV 4 (ABC) KING 5 (NBC) KIRO 7 (CBS)
Cafferty left WNBC in December 1989
Kgo7 news has a problem because nine news theme song 1999 to 2000 has used
0:10 RIP Don Pardo
Enjoyed the openings but must say KRON's set was a bit bizarre, looks like a library!
Ah, yes, the old "library set" on KRON. Unique for sure.
KIRO had the best open here, even though during this era they were #3 in the ratings. Today, KOMO and KIRO look good, but KING is still trying to figure out how to utilize their downsized studio near T-Mobile Park. Really one of the worst sets in all of Tegna.
Where’s Jean Enerson?
She retired
@@liampaynefan4life496 no Shit this is old school clips when she wasn't retired.
@@seaguy i meant that was before she retired but i have no idea so stop ranting i was just giving a simple answer

This was Tony's second time at WNBC. His first time was 1972-80 when it was News Center 4 before being traded to Channel 2 (he will return to 30 Rock by '86). If you wonder about Jack Cafferty, he was traded to Fox 5 to anchor Fox News at Seven.
Jack left in December 1989
RIP Warner Saunders
They’re all really good but KIRO7 has it for me. And Gary Justice! Yes, that name.
WAGA Channel 5 was CBS in 1989, but 30 years later, it's FOX!
It’s Sad that we’re seeing the end of locally owned TV stations. Cox just announced that WSB would be sold to the Apollo Investment Group......
I had no idea this was happening looks like it's only going to fit the TV station not the radio station but red is also going to be merely a majority stake and the new company will be located in Atlanta this was overshadowed by the fact that WYAY radio is being sold to educational media Foundation also known as K-Love
Apollo Global Management* They're a mega-private equity firm.
I like how Nick looked back as he was backing out with the van lol
I had no idea that Warner Saunders co-anchored the 4 o'clock newscast on WMAQ-TV Channel 5 back then! I knew that he did sports!
The late Warner Saunders was sports anchor/reporter from 1982-89
@@marquishoward3529 Thanks for pointing that out.
He drives at 0:07 and he interviews Mayor Jerry Springer (now rival newsreader from WLWT) at 0:21
Both Brenda Wood and Jeff Hullinger moved from WAGA to WXIA in later years

The voiceover announcer for WNBC's 5 o'clock newscast, Live at Five, was former Saturday Night Live announcer Don Pardo back then!
That's not Prdo. Pardo only did Live At Five. This announcer was Fred Facey.
@@davidschifter97 I know that.
Taken from WMAQ-TV Channel 5, the NBC affiliate in Chicago, IL!
i remember lou gellos doing the sports for KATU in Portland Oregon
These are great opens but why did they drop "because anything can happen in New York" from the voice over?
I love the intro from the 1980s

So I'm guessing that KSTW Channel 11 was Seattle's choice for news at 10 o'clock before KCPQ Channel 13, better known as Q13 FOX, stepped in to become that choice for prime time news!
Yeah that's exactly right. KSTW CH 11 was a popular channel back in the day. Lot of Seattle history. The popular kid's show Brakeman Bill was aired on Ch 11.
