I watched your lesson on passive voice. While I was watching it several questions arose in my mind among them the foremost one is why can't you teach PV without taking AV. Do you take a A V. sentence first into your mind and then transform it into a PV and put it out of your mouth ? The other point is that in a grammar lesson concept formation should be done very clearly i. e. why we need P. V. It is the first step in grammar lesson and the second one is the formula which you really did and the third one being the examples. These are the three steps that should be followed when dealing with a grammar lesson. Another salient point is to tell them how to identify the object in a AV sentence which you didn't do because many students take the third word to be the object and produce very hilarious and risible sentences. The exception in this lesson is that all ideas can't be expressed in PV which you must have told but failed to do so. However, without resorting to very dull, drab and dreary traditional method of teaching PV, there is a very impressive way of doing this. Then you need not worry to talk all about the transformational process and other jargon like object becomes the subject and subject becomes....... what? etc. The explanation in a grammar lesson must definitely be very precise. exact and succinct but not too complex and complicated Senior lecturer in linguistics
