Nice!
Que modelo y año es esa Harley ?
It’s a 1996 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide. FLHTCU
@6550gateway preciosa
Kinda like my Rampage , i have had it 12 years loaded my ultra several times a year only difference is i have a long box 2500 HD Silverado . Joy of the long box is i can shut the tailgate . Safe travels .
Are you taking it in for its recall?
What recall?
Hi Randy! These old reels are amazing! It would be really great if you could make a playlist so they could play automatic in order. This would also greatly improve views too. -cheers!
Nice! Looks like you had an awesome ride!
No way valve adjustment required at 19000 miles. Dealer will try to extort you for 2 grand for service you don't need. Caveat emptor
Ever consider a tripod for filming?
Great video. Thanks for convincing me to pay my shop to do this service. I'll just take out a second mortgage. 😂
Hace mucho ruido el motor, voy a llegar loco a mi destino
Those questions are best asked of a BMW dealer, as for trying to get more power and speed, the bike doesn’t need it, this bike reaches 260kph very fast. Keep in mind on this ride the bike had under 100 miles on it nowhere near broken in.
Can this bike be ECU flashed to get more horsepower/speed? Does Bren-tuning have a flash to unlock this bikes true potential?
That k1600 is a jewel out on open highway. The one I test rode was completely zippy for a big bike!
Yes, it should make it easier to find my video’s. I know this latest video is long but I’ve gotten requests from riders in Australia who used to live here asking to see the whole ride.
Randy, I see you changed your Username to "Randy Kain" now. :-) I think viewer will now find your channel better. Hey, did you ever see yourself in my past video's. ;-) P.S. - I couldn't watch your latest video bcz it was 3 hr long. 😲
Wozu hast du eigentlich eine Gangschaltung,da tut mir die Maschine schon fast leid.Schlechter kann man eine BMW kaum fahren,-fast wie ein Fahranfänger,-schrecklich.
Wow
Yep
Awesome bike It is a 1600 though… You should try to get it over 50 sometime 😂 Just kidding I’m jealous thats the bike i want
Nice video
the place is totally unrecognizable today because it went through so many phases of redevelopment instead of trying to preserve history. everything has been lost. I miss that old Burger King.
Did you ever make it past 45mph?
What a great videi, thanks!
Sorry but you are not able to drive this bike.. belive me..you'll break the gearbox quickly. the electro-assisted gearbox is not used in that way.. go to the bmw house and have them explain how to use the bike.
its exactly how it is designed to be driven as are many others with shift assist pro ruclips.net/video/aJQmMET-69E/видео.html
@cd ruby - why don't you research Shift Assist Pro before commenting? The rider is not crashing the gears like you think he is. I have an earlier version of a K1600GT with Shift Assist and I wish I had it. Awesome feature.
2022 1250 R/T...I have about 7,000 miles on it, the 6Cyl. K1600 is nice especially could appreciate having reverse...

The OLD GIRL looks GREAT.! One Day I hope to own a Motorcycle like that when I am older 🙂
I’m not sure how to choose between the GT and the GTL. I’d like to hear anyones opinion based on experience.
I’ve ridden both GTL and GT models. There are a few differences, the handle bars are 1 “ further forward and the foot pegs are 1” further back on the GT models so you ride it more like a sport bike. The GTL, you sit more straight up and down which for me is more comfortable. When the top box is off it’s a little easier to mount and dismount the bike but I like having the storage. I just stand on the foot peg and I’m on. The other difference are the mirrors on the new GTL, they’re a different design, the GT models retained the mirror that have been there since 2011. After that, they are the same motorcycle. So for me it came down to seating position comfort, and of course the windscreen on the GTL is larger too.
GT seat and footpegs is a bit higher up and footpegs a bit further back for a more sporty ride. Still very very comfortable. The GT is limited to 265 km/h, the GTL 235. The GT does not come with e topbox. Other than that it is basically the same bike.
The windshield on the GT has a different shape.
@@enricohockx171 true, forgot to mention that. The windshield on the GT is a bit smaller wite a V like shape at the top vs the GTL that is curved upwards. From what I know then they are interchangeable, and a few people do change it on both models.
Depends how much you ride with a passenger. Same basic bike otherwise.
I'm picking up my 2022 GT next week. Trading in my 2018 DCT GW. No stranger to big bikes, plus the GT is much lighter and more maneuverable!
MERRY CHRISTMAS Randy. I cannot watch all of your 4hr video (looks like it has a couple different parts to it as well) Maybe you could make a shorter version of all your cross-country highlights.? BTW: Is your home base Courtney.? 🙂
Hi I like your vedios where is your bike shop add and phone number please Thanks 🙏
Nice!
Wow there was nothing there back then. Now Van has everything in it. When did BC Place get built? Also Rogers Arena wasn't there either.
"Rogers Arena" lol.. I guess when they change the name to "Telus Village" you'll call it that. Will always be General Motors Place. BC place was put up for Expo '86.. GM Place roughly 10 years later.
@@VinylToVideo It is now known as Rogers Arena since it got sponsored by them. It was GM place yes, but not anymore
@@PlatinumEagleStudios Yeah they might call it that on TV where they're paid to do so, doesn't mean I have to or will.
Did you replace valve cover gasket and spark plugs ? I have to do my valves at 54k I had 57 k now so I am a little overdue, at 36k all valves were within specs. Biggest pain is to remove secondary air supply.
no I didn’t have to replace the rubber gasket and yes I did replace the spark plugs but won’t the next 30,000k service. Those plugs are rated for 100,000k from the manufacturer. I also added new antifreeze but won’t the next time either. My valve clearances were exactly the same as it came from new, no wear what’s so ever. The intake is between .013 and .023 and exhaust is between .023 and .033. I went one step further and actually measured to see what they were and all my intake valves were .018 and all my exhaust valves were .028 and my BMW has 67,000 miles on it and it runs beautifully. I’m of the belief now that if all the clearances are good after the first 30,000k service you could skip the next one and just do the brake fluid flush. oil and filter and air filter. After 30,000k even my diff oil came out clear but it uses so little I would also change it too and of course do all the other checks and spot oilings on moving parts and check all bolt and screw for tightness.
@@6550gateway I am actually planning to check this time exact clearances. My radiator needs good cleaning after last long trip. I will replace spark plugs as I replaced them at 18 k but gasket should be good as I replaced it at 36k. Brake fluid was flushed last year so I ma good for another season. I did changed shaft oil when I replaced rear tired about 6 k it was very clean and I lubricated rear shock linkage and shaft splines last winter so I am good. Bikes still runs very strong, does not use any oil btw changes. It is actually not that difficult to work on as people think. Good luck and thanks for replay
Thank you! Two words for ya Randy, Tri Pod. 😀 Happy wrenching!
Hello Randy, nice video! advice: how long (in hours) does it take to dismantle the parts to reach the injection coils (carrosserie and radiator)? My k1600 gt started to be rough at idle, and I think it maybe a defective coil (or a wet one, I washed the bike with pressure 3 weeks ago). Thanks!
Hi. After replacing the pump and injectors, and cleaning the fuel injection system, the engine does not start. When I disconnect the tube from the pump - quick connector, the engine runs smoothly for several seconds (fuel pressure below 1 Bar). After reconnecting, it turns off (Fuel pressure 3.5-4Bar). The scanner shows no errors. I don't know what the cause is.
There was recently and recall on the fuel pump, the dealers replace them for free, hopefully you got in on that. I had my GTL pump replaced a few months back, I never experienced a problem but some have had issues that sound similar to you. The dealer needed my bike for 4 hrs to replace and calibrate the new pump so maybe there is a software step that can only be done at a BMW dealer.
@@6550gateway Thank you for the quick reply. I replaced the spark plugs, pump, pump electronics, injectors, cleaned the entire fuel system. In the Moto Scan BMW program, I don't have all the adaptations. more options are in 911. I'll have it on Tuesday. Greetings from Poland
You skipped the hard of getting that last third of the tire over the top of the rim. I had a bear with that part!
Hey Randy, My 1600 bmw die out @ idle after I let go the gas . Please help even the dealer can’t figure it out . Thanks
it is possible that the "throttle by wire" is not calibrated to the throttle body. A GS911 Interface unit should be able to detect and calibrate it. This might be above the capabilities of a GS911 but dealers should be able to re-calibrate everything on the bike with their factory testing units.
Thank for the video Randy. On a side note, what brand of highway pegs are you using?

Beautiful ...history on film, so important 👏
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I was considering doing my own service but after seeing this I will WISELY pay a professional wrencher. I've done plenty of repairs on 70s-00s cars, but find I don't enjoy it anymore and it's just crazy with all the new tech. Big 👍 to you. Safe journeys.
Glad you enjoyed it, what type of motorcycle do you have?
@@6550gateway 2012 K1600gtl that I bought last May. Found it online, flew down to Nashville (from MN) and rode it back in two days (1000 miles). More than double in size & power than anything else I had rode previously...... and loved every minute.... including the couple of hours of rain showers on day 2. Now I just hope it doesn't cost me a fortune to get serviced.... doing a five dayer from MN across and around Lake Michigan and the U.P. this July.
Nice bike, you will love it. The full 30k service up here in Canada costs around $1000.cdn at a dealer so you can save yourself a lot by doing it yourself. My 2013 GTL came from Florida and was actually featured in a youtube video from the dealer.

Fun fact until about a year ago a bus with the same number of 17 operated along Oak Street and Broadway and went where Marine Drive station is now on the Canada line but since the fact that the Broadway subway project is happening route 17 is now travelling along 12th Ave. continues on Cambie Street up to 12th Ave. 17s always fun to ride though because the 40 foot trolly buses can you get some speed up down that road there the only thing that’s annoying about it is the frequency of the route could be a bit higher I think
Hi bro , my battery is dead , how do l get to it ? Thanks .
it’s easy, just remove your seat, remove the two torx head screws on the battery clamp and undo your two battery cables, always remove negative cable first and when reinstalling a new battery install the negative cable last.
@@6550gateway Thank you so much .🙂
I just did by hands no special tools 👻
Tis the Season to be Thankful :-) Randy are you still on Vancouver Island, riding.? I am hoping this MotoChannel of yours is still active. (smiles)
Yes I still live on the island although not riding this time of year but I have lots of videos of rides on my channel to keep me dreaming of summer.
I am in Calgary, so I'm watching you videos and dreaming of summer too.! hee hee Did you know there are about 10 Motorcycle Channels on Vancouver Island with you Sir. ;-)
I don’t doubt it, there’s a lot of motorcycle enthusiasts here on the island.
It must be Paradise in the summer.! Do you ever watch "Critter_moto" or "KS Moto Cafe".? What about: LegionOfOldMotors , 2rideadv, SIMON FEARN, Slank Tapper, Vanlsand Dirt or "Let's Talk Transport".?
No I haven’t but I’ll check them out
This is great information, thank you for filming this process. How did you get information regarding the ABS and connecting your laptop to the bike? Thanks!
The information came with my GS-911WIFI unit.
These videos are incredible. Love to see how things have changed. I lived on Earles about 5 doors south of that power sub station. Fascinating. Thank you
Hi Randy, very informative video, how /where do you make the adjustment if the spec is out for either intake or exhaust? I had an RT, which was very strait forward to adjust the valves..
If any of the valve clearances are out of spec you have to remove the camshafts and change the shim that is out of spec. So if the clearance is too wide you change to a thicker shim. If you are doing that you need to make yourself 3 tools all the same. Threaded metic stock that you thread into 3 of the spark plug holes that have wide washers and nuts on the tops so you can keep the pressure on the upper cam housing so you can remove all the mounting nuts on the cam housing and then slowly back them off evenly to release the housing. The cams are under valve spring pressure. You’d also have to remove the cam chain tensioner.
Randy I have a 2015 k1600gt w/11,000 miles. It just started a clacking sound around 3000 rpms and it makes a similar noise decelerating through the 3000 rpm range. I accelerated hard to 6000 rpm and no problems (no clacking, smoke, missing popping etc.) But while decelerating through 3000 rpm it made the same noise. Reading in the forums there are many posts regarding this. I called the dealer and was told the valves probably need to be adjusted. This is contrary to the posts on the forum. Have you had any similar experience with your bike or maybe friend's bikes. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
No I can't say I've heard that sound on my BMW. Mine has 60,000 miles on it now and my actual valve clearances are what they were when it was built. They say measuring the Intake clearance should be between 0.13 -0.23 and all my actual valve clearance measurements were 0.15, Exhaust clearance should be between 0.23 -0.33 and all my actual valve clearance measurements were 0.25. So for 60,000 miles I have had no valve wear whats so ever.
love seeing stuff like this
