It’s not water proof, it’s water resistant. The materials are water friendly so you can clean it under the tap and rub off any marks. Leave it out to dry and it’s back to normal, won’t be deformed.

The panels are water resistant and not water proof. The sweatband will soak up the sweat first, then the underbim will start to soak up as it’s a composite material. At the point both are soaked you are pouring sweat so the outer panels will start to soak up the rest.

Along with its water resistant properties, it’s sweat resistant. So you won’t get sweat stains.
