At the very end, on the last two beats right as the pianist finishes the glissando one soprano adds an ornamental high E (E flat actually) and lets it hang just long enough to be heard as they cut off. That was lovely. And it helped make up for the, shall we say, “interpretive” high C that’s written in at the very end of the vamp on the word “John” during the stomp and clap sequence.

One random thought about the acting: it can be a good challenge for a conductor's resilience, professionality and self esteem, especially for a male conductor, and stand in front of this teenage female choir, as they act sassily, staring *DAGGERS* into him, and conduct them passionately and professionaly.

This is GREAT. I mean, I have some quibbles about the arrangement, but GREAT!

Take about 10mm off that tempo and they'll be right in the groove. It's just a little frantic at that tempo. Gotta allow time to breath.

The first time I heard this song was MANY years ago as a small child, It was sung by Kathleen Ferrier with accompaniment on piano (maybe Gerald Moore playing?) Hearing it 5 minutes ago again (after maybe 50 years) brought back some emotional memories and although your choral version was VERY different, it was true to the original with a superb arrangement, accompaniment and violin 'obligato' !
