Cerro Torre Climb & Fly - with Roger Schäli, Pablo Pontoriero and Mario Heller
The tales told about this majestic mountain and the incredible climbing on offer are legendary. The West Face route with its long glacier approach through the Circo de los Altares certainly feels ‘out there’. That the whole team were able to take off from the summit with their paragliders is a testament to their skill, both as climbers and as pilots.
After recovering from covid 19 they start the approach towards the mountain, crossing the Marconi pass before running into friends with whom they form a strong alliance. After another 3 days they reach the summit which is just big enough to lunch with the paragliders...

Julian Zanker and I climbed the Scheidegg-Wetterhorn West Pfeiler in one push. After a few rappels on to the glacier we took the fast way down. We were so lucky as soon as we got on to the glacier it stopped raining and the clouds opened up so we could see Grindelwald. Quickly the wings were ready and we took are chance.

My wife’s uncle Dave Carman completed the first Alpine accent in 1977 with John Brag and Jay Wilson. To this day, when I’m with him, it blows my mind. He’s so humble. I guess it’s the humility that keeps mountaineers alive.
What a great vlog, The Fitzroy massif is a wonderful and spectacular place and to see it from this footage is even better. I went hiking from El Chalten in 2015 and it is honestly one of the best places I’ve been to, but this adds to my experience. Great work guys!

What an amazing film!! Just one maybe ignorant question: did you jump with your own climbing gear, tents, etc, in your packs or did the rest of the team that went down rappelling took them with themselves? Congratulations!!

Must be the biggest rush to step of a peak like that. Best way to descend. Back in the eighties, I worked and climbed with a guy who was on the third ascent team for Cerro Torre.
It truly is an indescribable rush to step off a peak like that. Descending is definitely an adventure in itself.
