Organ Voluntary No.1 by Michael Pogudin
Просмотров 1464 месяца назад
A voluntary I wrote for the 2023 Christmas Mass in my family's town in the U.K. The organ I played on for the service had no pedal keyboard, so the voluntary is written on a regular grand staff. Since there's no recording of the performance, thought I'd try some string MIDI instead!
Allegro Alla Mozart by Michael Pogudin

A simple sonata-allegro in the style of Mozart. It was a lot of fun to go fully back to my classical roots to write this.

I love suspended dissonances over a "walking" bass line. What did you use for playback? Musescore?
Thank you! Yes, I used Musescore with some tweaks in the playback. The Organ in the background is a logic "realized bass line" I added for effect :)
This is gorgeous! Music for the soul!
Thank you!

This is fantastic!
Thank you so much!
Очень красиво
Спасибо за ваш добрый комментарий
Amazing!
Thank you! Very glad to hear.
Very nice! The implied polyphony is quite reminiscent of Bach's compositional style for solo instruments
Reminds me of his violin sonatas, I would love to write a piano transcription one day when I learn a thing or two on harmony and counterpoint (And if you dont sue me lol)
Very cool, it's certainly a unique sound and I love it! It reminds me quite a bit of the Klazz brothers for their interpretations of classical pieces "jazzed up", but they have latin percussion rather than going the swing band route...
Thank you! I have not heard of the Klazz brothers but I'll look them up, it sounds really interesting.
0:56 blud snuck in some Paganini?😂
🤫
“Alla” is “ à la “ , idk why you’d spell it that way
Alla to my knowledge is a different way of spelling à la, in Italian they sometimes combine A and La into that. Rondo Alla Turca is an example. But à la would work as well!
Great explanation! Thanks for the clarification. @@NichtWunderkind
Doesn't always sound like Bach, but nevetheless, amazing composition! Keep composing!
Thank you!
Aw man that's nice
Had great teaching help!
@@michaelpogudincomposition definitely man
i played it 👍
Hope it went great!
simply gorgeous. I get a Barber vibe (his essays).
Thank you very much!
Soo... it's black orpheus
Yup, Manhã de Carnaval and Black Orpheus are two names for the same tune!
@@michaelpogudincomposition There is even a third title of this tune: A Day In The Life Of A Fool (which is the title used on a Sinatra recording of it).
Just looked this up! Really great recording.@@DavidBennettThomas
Beautiful piece!
Genial, en donde se puede conseguir el arreglo?
Hola! Para la partitura escriba mpogudin001@uarts.edu. Gracias!
