Developed Feelings for a Married Man
In this Vlog, I talk about how I developed feelings for a married man who I acted alongside in a musical. I loved hugging him and enjoyed our DM's. With time, I realised that these feelings weren't just platonic but that I had developed a crush on a married man.
I tried to set boundaries a couple of times but I didn't always stick to them. I, and many people believe that cuddles and conversations can also be a form of emotional and light physical cheating. I did not want to be a homewrecker.
I put an end to our conversations shortly after the musical production ended. We are still Facebook friends but we no longer (for the most part!) DM.
I am no longer attracted to an older, married man. ...

Finding Peace in Being Alone

In this video, I share how my new niche for this channel is singleness and aloneness, and finding peace and contentment in that. So many believe that we need to find love in order to feel whole and complete, but I believe that we are already whole and complete. That we should first go within and find that peace which is already there inside of us, and from there, radiate that peace and love to ...

As much as I wanted, and felt I needed love, I could never find it, and when it was standing right in front of me, I couldn't let love in. I didn't like the way I frazed on of my sentences 😄 So for the sake of being transparent (I have been told that I'm too honest for my own good!): Yes I told this man twice that the cuddles needed to stop. I wasn't very good at sticking to my own boundaries however! The second time was mid-show, that's when I said that I would need to see an Email from his wife to say it was OK, otherwise it had to stop. Normally we would cuddle after my solo, it did feel odd, and cold, to walk straight past him without a hug. It effected our performances too. On the final night of the show, I allowed us to be cuddly again, just to end things on a positive note. I also put an end to our DM's. I only broke that "rule" twice. Once a month later, to ask if he had a cat cage, and recently, to wish him all the best. I didn't do things perfectly but I'm glad that I put an end to it and that I no longer miss him 🙂

    fascinating... i'm comparing this story about you developing feelings with this man with the story about your recent date where you didn't feel a spark. and i've heard it before on dating coaches for men channels, that women often take longer to develop feelings. and safety plays a major role in it too. the woman has to feel SAFE. and there's that whole pre-selection thing. so not only do you know he would be a great husband because he already is, someone pre selected him. women want men other women want. but it's also safe because there's this unspoken understanding that nothing is expected to happen. now compare that to your date where you're expected to see if you feel anything, and there's all this pressure to feel something. but there's no time to let your guard down and feel comfortable. lol anyway, i'm just enjoying trying to figure you out. your a puzzle to piece together. there have definitely been a few occasions when I could sense married women who i had gotten comfortable with started to give off subtle signals that they were developing feelings. it sort of teaches me to slow down with prospects and not show too much interest too quick. to sort of ride that comfortable acquaintance wave as long as possible, and let her get comfortable and feel safe with me. "be a challenge" the dating coaches would say.

That said, it is nice to have a mix of different types of people in the world, but extroverts shouldn't consider us odd just for enjoying or preferring to be alone. Again, we could consider them odd for always needing to have company! Let us all just get along and accept each other for being the way that we authentically are! 💛

    I don't know everything about anxious attachment and anxious avoidance, but do you think you've been pushing men away on a subconscious level because you're afraid they're going to leave you? I know that I've been single for the past decade because my last marriage was abusive (both of us) and I haven't been able to tolerate any kind of games from women who play hard to get or try to weild control in the dynamic. I'm sensitive to emasculation. Looking for a woman that isn't a feminist or threatened by my masculinity and can just be submissive and have a quiet and gentle spirit. Which is very rare nowadays. Anyway, keep being honest and talking about yourself! You're enough!

    • @HeidiNobel
      @HeidiNobel 11 часов назад

      Yeah, that quite possibly may have been the case. I was quite good at self-sabotage. At different points in my life, I have both been too clingy/needy and also had my guard up too much. Human psychology, gotta love it, lol. I feel most stable alone tbh. But I'm sure that won't always be the case. I'm sorry that your marriage was abusive. Did you have children together? That would make things extra difficult. Yeah, game-playing is never fun, it's immature behaviour. Some women may learn that this is how they have to behave to get a man to like them, but I'm sure it's not all ill-intentioned. I've never been a big fan of the word "submissive", sorry. I have debated about that topic a lot with a Christian friend. I understand the healthier version of it, but it still doesn't quite sit right with me. Masculine/feminine dynamics I do understand, but IMO it's good if the female doesn't completely abandon some of her masculinity and it's good if a man embraces some of his femininity. The pendulum should never swing too far in either direction. That's just my view though. You are entitled to believe whatever you want to believe and find a woman that you feel will match/compliment you best 😊

    • @HeidiNobel
      @HeidiNobel 11 часов назад

      PS I also would say I'm a feminist in that I believe in equal women's rights. I don't know why men say that word like it's a bad thing. It's just not the focus of my channel but I do support women who do speak out for other women. ✌

    • @Gospelhandler233
      @Gospelhandler233 10 часов назад

      @@HeidiNobel I guessed that word would make you cringe as it does to most women, and I guessed that you're a feminist and I'm comfortable just speaking my mind no matter if you agree or not. It's a beautiful thing when we can have different views and still be friends and show respect by being honest. I believe women are equal in value as human beings but that they are designed for a different role. Just like Jesus was equal to the Father and yet He submitted to the Father. We don't need to change each other's minds. Like I said I accept you the way you are and respect that we all have different experiences and our values are valid.

    • @HeidiNobel
      @HeidiNobel 10 часов назад

      @@Gospelhandler233 Yeah, I'm glad that you don't hit that unsubscribe button just because I disagree with you 😄 Although maybe you would if I hard-core started debating with you, lol. Been there, done that. I may disagree on a few things here and there but I won't go too deep into it! So long as people are good people and do what they believe is the good and right thing to do, there's no harm in disagreeing 🙂 Most of us are also pretty set in our ways, and no amount of debating is going to change that. I think the reason I took everything so extremely personally with this Christian man in the past was because I so badly wanted things to work out between us and I tried everything under the sun to show him I was a good woman and wanted desperately for him to see (and selfishly follow) my way of thinking. The drama was intense and unnecessary. So it's really nice to have come out of all of that mess and be able to accept that we don't all see things the same way and that that's OK. We can still be friends with people who we don't totally see eye to eye with and that's a beautiful thing 😊

    • @Gospelhandler233
      @Gospelhandler233 9 часов назад

      @@HeidiNobel i agree. i think despite us using words like submission and feminism, we probably would see eye to eye on most things if we really weed through it. if i thought you were a total bimbo, i wouldnt be subscribed or taking an interest in what you have to say. i think you and I both have been in the place where we were trying to change our partner, and we've come to the place now where we recognize that we don't need to do that anymore. hopefully in the future I can find a woman who agrees to submit. but honestly i don't even know exactly what that practically means or what it looks like. i know I'm going to be alone forever if i need a woman to not have a brain or opinion and to just do everything she's told. at the same time, there needs to be a compromise and I require the base line level of leadership and respect. a good way she can know if she is crossing a line is for her to ask herself, "could i say this to my boss at work in this way and still hope to keep my job?"

It would be nice to have friends that we can completely let our hair down with. Trust that it will still happen. Have you tried finding friends via the Internet? Such as via Bumble BFF, or Meetup.com? I hope that you have some fur babies or a nice supportive family, that's important too. Lots of love! 💛

    Hi Heidi. Your story was very hard to listen to. Your pain is almost touchable, still. I have never had to suffer like that, but my father lost his dad at age five, in WWI, and my mother lost her elder brother in WWII. And then her fourth baby, her only girl. She never recovered. I have some idea of the permanence of the injury. But more recently, I have become aware of how many people are still suffering from events that regulate how they relate to others. I hope you do not mind, but I recounted the background to my concern on one of your posts. If you are not comfortable with this, please delete it.

      @tonyryan43 Hi Tony, thank you for your message 🙏 Earlier today, prior to filming this video, I was thinking about what I would say, and it did still make me shed a few tears, even after all these years! Grief is something that is difficult to fully heal from. Now and then it still hits you. I also lost my mother, 30 years later. I will film a video about that on another day. I'm sorry to hear that your father lost his father in WWI, also at such a young age! And that your mother lost her brother in WWII and her baby girl! Losing a child is the most painful loss someone can go through, it's understandable that she never recovered 😔 I'm not sure what you mean by "I recounted the background of my concern in one of your posts"? This is the only comment I found of yours. I will check my "held" message folder to see if it's hiding there. If I'm comfortable with it, I will approve it 🙂 Thank you for your comment and for watching my video 🙏

    I have recently discovered that the developmental history of children who, for one reason or another, feel uncomfortable either in crowds or making physical contact (there is a broad spectrum) has been deliberately excised from literature and online access. I stress that I am not talking about any one manifestation but many and I will not put a number on it. All of this started a century ago, when a really emotionally-damaged doctor whose name was (Sir) Truby King convinced thousands of mothers they should not cuddle or talk to their babies. He especially urged them to feed their baby every two hours, stating that more or less would damage their characters. He also said they should change nappies on a cold marble slab and never smile or laugh, or sing and talk to their baby while doing so. These babies grew up unable to relate normally to other people and many actually died. Another group were babies and infants placed in orphanages, which during and after WWII, were numerous with so many parents killed. A 1948 B&W clip survives online, showing how these babies required one-on-one psychotherapy for at least one year to bring them back to normal. The footage showing these kids is heart-rending. The third group of kids were those in hospital. Doctors tended to follow the Truby King model and, consequently, infants wasted away and many died. The strange thing was that the newer and more efficient the hospital the more babies and infants died. This confounded the medical profession and the phenomenon was dubbed "Wasting disease". In 1946, in the US, a certain paediatrician was asked to investigate this in the reputedly best hospital with state-of-the-art facilities; but which had a 100% death rate. His assistant hired many women, whose only qualification was compulsive motherliness. Each women picked each baby and infant up and cuddled it for 20 minutes, put it down and did the same to the next in line. Overnight, Wasting Disease fell from 100% to zero. The paediatrician, of course, got all the credit and Dr Benjamin Spock became a household name and famous author. I studied this history twice in university in the 1960s and 1970s as part of my teaching and social science courses, so I remember the details well. I have since continued my studies of early human development. More recently, one of my granddaughters told me she cannot be touched: when handed a baby she holds it at arm's length, yet when adult she wants to have many children. Obviously, resolution will require some kind of counter-touch aversion therapy so I searched online and found nothing useful where I thought there would be hundreds of counsellors and therapists. I checked back in history and found the entire Spock experience had been erased. Somebody does not want warm relationships to prosper. I brought it up here because this has been the first opportunity to talk to people with some or any kind of interest in interrelationships. I have been advised that children witnessing domestic violence can develop the same issues, as do those sexually abused. So, that is three distinct causes. Loss of a parent may be another. I am at a loss what to do now. I welcome any ideas, insights, directions to go, related or unrelated to Heidi's experiences. Ideally, I would like to see a support and research group form. Anybody?

      @@craig6744 No argument from me. After I wrote, I suddenly realised that the many women and girls reporting injury of this kind, hides the equal number of men and boys, also suffering. Heidi has exposed what I suspect is widespread but hidden social trauma.

    yup. I can totally relate. I was shy and quiet growing up and only learned how to halfway fit in as I grew into adulthood. there are some people who I don't respect because it seems that they don't even know who they are because from an early age it was of most importance to them to fit in.. so they sort of became actors. but you're a real person. and when you're young and all eyes are on you in class, it is scary. and I would totally be self conscious videoing myself at a park too. I like that saying, "those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." forget all those actors, the so called normal people who lost their true selves long ago. they lack authenticity. but loneliness is a real issue. I find that I need to take interest in people if I want them to like me. but I dont find that many people interesting. not "normal" people who don't know how to be vulnerable. that's why we value quality over quantity. you're not alone. you may not see me, but I see you! and you're beautiful!

Thankfully I don't feel lonely too often because I am just so used to being alone! It hit me hard once my musical rehearsals and performances were over though! That's when I realised that I do actually love that sense of community. Perhaps you find that in the church you attend? 🙂 Once the show was over, we didn't really stay connected. @rkphibb Haha! So glad you watched it Robert 😁 I know right!? I went all out and bought an earthing mat (a cheap and cheerful one) which I forget to use! I think grounding it directly into the earth is better than an outlet because, even though it is only connected to the grounding port, I still heard on another video that there can still be some dirty (was that the word?) electrical interference. I don't know if that's true, but when I tried sleeping with it I had very restless/vivid dreams. The only annoying thing about walking barefoot is the regular foot washing (I don't like to go to bed with dirty feet!) But it's a small price to pay for better health! I once took it too far, met my friend at my sisters cafe... walked barefoot all the way there in the middle of a hot summer's day. Ouch in more ways than one! 😂 Awesome that your mother is keen to watch the documentary too! I was reading about earthing via Reddit and Quora posts and thankfully stumbled across the documentary via a random comment. There were two other interesting RUclips videos where a woman tested blood samples before and after using an earthing mat. More longer-term studies need to be done! There isn't much money to be found in natural remedies, so why would scientists bother to research it. Plenty of skeptics out there, but I'm a believer. Glad you are too! 😀
