Hey! I'm Stuart and I am the creator and host of Hardcore History, a series documenting the careers of some incredibly talented artists within the Hardcore scene.
If you were a raver in the '90s, there's a chance you will have heard of at least 1 of the people we discuss in this series, so check the playlists to learn more about the musicians behind the music.
I am also a DJ and a bit of a producer, and you can find mixes or my own musical creations on this channel.

N-Trance - Set You Free (Stuart-K’s Form2Hard Bootleg)
Просмотров 6109 месяцев назад
I never intended to weigh in on this vocal as it has been done to death by just about everyone. That being said, as true as it could ever be to my ethos of 'be a bit different', I took inspiration for this arrangement from Billx, one of my favourite Frenchcore producers who makes some amazing cross-genre stuff. If you haven't heard any of his stuff, I can highly recommend it!! This track starts...

Taaakee meeee awayyyy proper tune 👌
So what's force up to these days?
R.I.P Stu 😢
Legend in many music genres
Gillians brother gordon was a legend making Scottish hardcore back in the mid 90s
Loving these videos. Hardcore/Happy Hardcore had a profound impact on the UK rave scene and led to many offshoots of different styles and artists but the most profound impact of all was societal and cultural. People from all walks of life brought together as one for the love of the music and the love of the rave.
Remember Dougal back in the day at Milwaukees before dreamscape just when it was called esp
Mike’s back catalogue across genres is insane. Ridiculously talented.
Don’t say it’s coming, just upload! Stellar series on this channel, hope you’re good and still gonna continue.
Awesome man. Informative. Interesting the whole names and aliases, didn't realise I was listening to the same feller. I'll definitely be on for Hixxy, another of the legends I got into the scene with.
Really... have you not heard of dj hype... sy cannot touch him on actual scratching skills that performs all live including now battle scratching...its not a diss just saying,he can scratch ok...as i notice a scratch as i do it myself
Boring!!!!
Need a video on Dj Producer. Living legend in the Hardcore Techno/Hardcore/Breakcore (pioneer) beat matching skills etc
Brisk is { and still is } a fucking legend.....Ham also is such a talent ...their tunes are outstanding !!!!
Nice djing keep the hardoce vibe alive
Stamina / Nu Nrg by far my fav labels ever. You did such an awesome job with this docu... so nice seeing the history of Stamina as well as its my dream label to land a release on. Cheers!
Can we get something on Matt Carlton / Helix / Justin Time ? Amazing Producer 😀
so many great tracks, Scott is a legend for sure
Mike not only made remakes of old hardcore, he also created an entire genre of music "Scouse House" with BCD records, he first started with his alias One Long Sausage before Ultrabeat.
Imagine the amount of papers a kid would have to deliver today to buy a pair of 1210's.
He's BAAAAACK!
Didn't know he was Clear Vu as well. He's had a massive influence on a lot of the music I grew up listening to and has got to be one of my all time favourite producers. Which is funny really cause I'm not really a fan of the music he's most famous for. Glad he made it big in the end though he deserves it.
instant subscribe! Thank you for your work <3
DJ Sy - the scratch on the obsession 1992 set with the dub war breakdown, is one of the most ballsiest and mental scratches you could ever hear in a live set.
Hi set at 91 fantazia new years is mental, along with rattys just before that.
So I came here looking for scratch masters & enjoyed this vid but watching from au was kinda disappointed you didn’t give us a listen to sy sets or examples of set at scratch master championships that would of been the 🍒 on 🔝 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
One of The best u.k. Hardcore producer alongside only with other legends Scott Brown, Gammer, Hixxy, Darren Styles and DJ Sy
I went for the last 2 years was unbelievable mate
Still got the tapes, many memories
Great memories from the early days with Sy at Venus. I’m not surprised it was his best memory. A very special and exciting time. I remember one particular night where James stood there looking at the dance floor with us all going mental to Sy’s tunes looking very upset. Wasn’t long before it changed to house rather than techno.
You've got to do Squad-E
Qbert master scatchi. DMC champiins
Where's the scratching.
he is master of hardcore and battle with dj slipmatt both are king of oldskool happy hardcore
You know I revelled in HH in the early part of my dj career, I had the entire Ravers Choice Catalog - Idea for a future show perhaps? (fucking heard the RC Reunion release with Hattrix??? I didnt even know about it and chanced upon it the other morning and being Blown AWAY would be an understatement!) and 4 the Floor, all the DHSS, Ruffneck, Silk Cuts you name it.. But then I got all snobby and serious and sold the lot and got into the my Mills and Beyer Minimal Tech for over a decade. Its still good don;t get me wrong, but if you like something - to hell with what other people think about you - GO LISTEN to it! Get Involved! ENJOY it!! Life IS SHORT!I d love to still have those HH tunes in my possession still for a spin like right now! Now, I've been out of the scene for almost 15 years, oh yes - the beats have still been on my playlist every week - Just was listening to Drogz and Neophyte @ Defcon as I came in off the bus.. I was watching some doco on gabber and there was a link to Angerfist @ Dominator that I just happened to click, and its made me wanna get back into the scene in a BIG way! I might even give the production a little more serious of a go this time too!
Boris Johnson bought me here
Oh the wonders of RUclips recommending this specifically when I'm drunk... Somehow background music You've put wasn't (loud) enough so I've just blasted on Scott's Bonkers 12!
Thanks for all the work put into this
You’re probably best using DVS control vinyl as your real vinyl will start to degrade fast when practising. And you have the option to use any sample imaginable. Also, slower beats makes for easier scratching.
Get something like superseal breaks and put a sticker either at 12 o clock or pointing to the the needle. Practise baby scratches and focus on making them funky and sound good. Only move to the next type of scratch when you have mastered that
Funky and sound good. I’d love that but this really is the start of yet another attempt at scratching. 😬 I’ve tried so many times before and I did wonder for a while if it was a coordination issue between right and left hand, but some of the stuff I managed off camera started to sound like it had some thought behind it. Plus, I’ve got the right turntables again for scratching so I might as well give it a go. I’ll check out superseal, thank you.
If you pratice enough with the vinyl you just know where the samples are (subject to skipping). However adding markers is of course a thing too.
I guess with practice everything falls into place then. Totally makes sense if you are regularly using the same samples that you would get used to where they are.
This took me back! Good times. Theres a big chunk of his story missing. His Cyndicut FM days. Thats where i first met Shane, and dj'd alongside him, Andy C, Dj DAZ (RIP), DJ Destruction, and many more amazingly talented artists, producers, promotors etc. Cyndicut is a big part of Shanes story, the South East rave scene, and it platformed amazing talent.
How much did the harcore Dj's get paid per set back back in the hardcore heyday?
Good question and not one I have an answer to I’m afraid
I remember hearing in the mid 90s Hixxy was getting £750 a set. Not sure how accurate, but then I wouldn’t be surprised either. And when you figure these guys were sometimes DJing up to 6-7 times a weekend, it adds up to a pretty penny.
What was that track?? Sounds like the vocal off clubhouse - light my fire
That was Motorway Madness by Vibes & Wishdokta (Jimmy J & Cru-L-T Remix) 😉
Fun fact... Quosh records Sy & Unknown - Make it bounce.. Was the last record I purchased.... £250 per Technics, sounds like a bargain today. Price of vinyl and a decent setup has gone through the roof! Decent content keep it up!
The reason I got into the rave scene and DJ'ing. He used to mix breakbeat hardcore like hip hop. What a DJ he was and he'd piss over the sync button era!
Go deejayyyyyy
Jimmy J & Cru lt - Take me away 🎉
You got it. Such a hands in the air tune.
