I do over 150 fittings each summer and as the top club fitter in the area I wanted to make some educational videos for you in which I share my knowledge and the observations that I'm seeing in my fittings. Those of you that are fortunate enough to be playing the clubs, leave comments in the videos so that others can benefit from your observations as well. Have fun, play well, if you're ever in Golden, stop in and say hi!

appreciate this! Would love a fitting video for 5 / 7 wood! Maybe the Ping G425/G430 ;) I have the Regular Radspeed with the HZRDUS Blue and love the feel but still working out the kinks of my swing
I got the Tensei AV white raw 65 and I hit 265.
What happened to your video's? ie any new content in the future?
Very informative for those looking what shaft to get. I got fitted for the Ping G425 LST with the Tour 65X shaft. I have a swing speed of about 110. I was amazed at how much control I had off the face. My gamer at the time was 3000 rpms avg more spin, and I would flare shots consistently.
Are these carry numbers on the video?
If you are a tweener.. between Regular and stiff would you go heavier in weight and softer flex such as the AV Raw blue in Regular or lighter and stiff? Swing speed 94-96 pretty smooth tempo. Thank you
I would like to try a different shaft in my speedzone do you recommend one that would work? Mine came with the Tense Au series I seem to hit off the toe??
I called Taylor made , they wanted $300 upcharge for a low kick point shaft in a Sim 2. So the total was $999 . I bought another driver. Point is there is a $300 upcharge. Mizuno has no upcharge.
The LA Golf Shaft is a $500 upcharge😳. These videos all highlight no upcharge shafts as I personally would never fit anyone into a club/shaft that costs more than the listed price.
I've been fit 3x w 3 different shafts. Aldila Nv nxt 65s , Fuji pro 2.0 6s and a Tensei orange 60s,. Would the rogue white 60 fit in that group ?
Do you have to have a really fast swing speed for a x stiff shaft?
yes
105+ I would say
Great video! Thank you
c00 0
Very helpful, I went with the x-stiff black smoke and consistently carry 295 with 20 yards of roll-out.
Hi, wondering what shaft would suit me, Im around 107 (smooth) swing with high ball flight?
higher budget : ventus blue 6x velocore stock option : hzrdus blue rdx 60x
What are the differences between the av blue raw and kuro kage silver?
My swing speed is about 78mph. I usually get the ball up with my 10.5 head. Why would you have me go to a 12.5 and use an a4 setting?
78 mph puts you somewhere in the A flex maybe a soft R flex. If you were in the category where "Everything goes the same distance" (swing speed around 45-55mph) that's when I would suggest the 12.5 with the A4 setting (it will help create more backspin allowing the ball to get more distance). If your ball flight is good, don't change it!
You have confirmed my own experience. I was swinging too slow to get Tensei AV Raw Blue 68g Stiff to launch high enough and constantly lost it to the right. I swapped it for Fujikura Ventus Blue 54g Regular and now it launches higher, swing speed is faster (14g lighter) and the ball turns over.
Bought one sounds like a empty trash can. Switched to the TM Sim 2. Much better results.
I shared the same view. The sound is irritating.
I actually loved that sound haha
Who cares what it sounds like! I carry 285 and hit 95% of my fairways!! Driver is money!!
You should do some better branding because your videos are truly some of the most helpful I’ve found. Thank you for your knowledge!
Hi Professional Club Fitting, I am a 113-117 mph swing speed player on the driver with an extremely strong grip and I am a relatively early loader of the shaft. Additionally, I am a plus handicap, I play exclusively a fade and prefer a swing weight of lower than D2 on all of my woods. I have experience playing the Rogue black 60X in my driver, and the Aldila RIP alpha 70X and 105X in my wood and hybrid. I am deciding between the Ventus Blue and Tensei 1k White profiles, and wanted to ask if you had any empirical advice. Additionally, my fitter recommended I go with an S shaft tipped an inch or more instead of an X in my fairway wood for swing weight and feel purposes. Can you advise on the difference between an X and an aggressively tipped S? Thanks a ton.
A plus handicap that loads early, I'm guessing you have a fairly aggressive move at the ball. The Rogue black will "feel" closer to the Tensei White based on the input I get back and personal experience. The empirical data shows that the Ventus with that head launches slightly higher, about 200 more rpm backspin. Personally, if you were thinking of switching I'd go with the Tensei (my swing speed is 115 and my tempo is up at a 7). If you feel you have a smooth tempo (2,3,4) I'd go with the Ventus. I'm not a big proponent of shaft tipping. Effectively, it's the same as stiffening the shaft up to the X flex, but in reality, no two shafts are ever tipped exactly the same. Nothing wrong with it, just never been satisfied with results when I've had it done for myself. Hope this helps!
@@professionalclubfitting950 Thank you, that's very helpful. If you have any experience with graphite design shafts, how do the HD, DI, and BB models compare to Ventus blue? Any thoughts on numbers or feel would be greatly appreciated.
@@rddn3 I've messed around with the IZ, but not the others. They are sending us some shafts (we'll never fit them because they are an upcharge), but I'll mess around with the DI and see what it feels like then let you know. They also sent us the LAGolf Trono shaft ($500 upcharge), and I'm definitely not selling a $1030 driver to someone. I'll let you know how those compare as well. Thanks!
@@professionalclubfitting950 You're a legend. Thank you very much. I'm finding that with some of the softer midsection shafts advertising a "kick," (Ventus blue, Rogue black, and AD DI) I often drive through before the shaft has a chance to properly kick. This seems to create a low strike, wild feel, and a right miss. But then a shaft like Ventus black isn't as versatile and almost forces me to swing out on every shot. As a club-fitter, do you think there is any possibility of manufacturer tolerances creating this dichotomy (neither Ventus blue nor black fitting me perfectly), or do you think it just means I need to look for a different profile or tip the shafts?
I’ve been fit to the 2 in the kura kage. So would there be an upgrade shaft Relevant to this shaft in the titleist upgrade range? Thank you
I'll never fit an upcharge shaft, but if you're looking the Tour AD DI-5 (extra $200), maybe the Rouge Black ($250). The Kuro is a great shaft, I'd stick with it if that was what you were fit into. Low, smooth tempo swingers might find the Smoke Yellow "feels" the same, but you would need a more lofted head (in general). Hope this helps!
@@professionalclubfitting950 yeah that’s brilliant, thank you so much for that.
I am 116-117 SS with my driver and what are your thoughts on the 60x Tensei pro white 1k. I am a somewhat aggressive swinger
That shaft fits perfectly as long as is fits your flight window (make sure it isn't higher than desired). It is nearly a 70g shaft (69) so it should launch fine. Hope this helps!
@@professionalclubfitting950 thanks
18 Handicap. I put a Project x even flow stiff shaft 60 gram and hit fairways all day with my Ts1. I was told the shaft would not pair well they were wrong.
I like the heads, just don't often pair them with your swing speed. Just shows that everyone is different and that when you find a combination that works...keep it!!! Thanks for the comment, keep hitting fairways!
Video content may be helpful , but without the audio to match , it sure didnt work ,,, suggest a re do with better audio ..
Thanks for the feedback, working on getting cleaner sounding videos.
Great info. I wish you well growing your channel. I’d like to see you do a fitting
Thank you for that! When I get someone that agrees to being on video I'll do an entire session.
Have you ever heard of a shaft with the name GD Pershing?? If so, is it a quality shaft or some sort of generic knockoff???
I don’t have much experience with Graphite Design shafts as they are almost always an upcharge. I’ve hit the IZ-6 a bit and they are a respected shaft company. I think the Pershing is older but a real shaft, not a knockoff.
Good question. At 95-105 swing speed I’d guess your overall distance falls somewhere in the 240-275 yard range. The Ventus pops up in that top grouping and works for players that need more backspin or are looking to hit it higher. Usually when I fit TM drivers at this speed I end up with a shaft in that middle grouping. If you want something that “feels” like the Ventus I would suggest the Rogue Silver or the RDX. If you have a higher tempo try that smoke blue. Hope this helps!
Hello Professional club fitting....I was wondering why the Ventus blue was not mentioned since it is the shaft that comes with the SIM Max unless you upgrade. What would be the best replacement for the Ventus blue for a 95 to 105 swing speed.....thank you
Thanks for the question, for some reason my response populated above instead of here.
This was an awesome video! Exactly what I was looking for made easy. I'm between the Project X Yellow and the Rogue Silver. Was gonna go with the Rogue, but cobra was out, and since I was saving $30 through them I went ahead with the Hzrdus yellow. We will see how it goes, worse case I sell it and swap to the Rogue Silver.
Let us know what you think when you get it. The HZRDS Yellow and Rogue are fairly similar so I'm guessing you'll like it!
Great review, thanks . Question for the expert, what difference smoke blue rdx 60 va smoke rdx black 60 both stiff. Thanks in advance
Good question. From what I’m seeing and the feedback from guests I’m fitting, the blue launches lower. True Temper’s site says the blue is for lower tempo swingers but the black seems to fit most everyone, it’s why I have it a bit further left on the chart. I’d go off desired ball flight.
@@professionalclubfitting950 thank you so much for your response.
number one. great video - again, cheers When you mentioned wing span i thought yep i'm one of those. height 5ft 7", stretched arms are 6ft 2" my knuckles are nearly dragging on the ground. what is the largest difference you have come across? Any tips to pass on for fitting etc. i hit the driver any where from 220 to 240 yrds
Just something I notice in my fittings, might not be any real science behind it but those of us with long wingspans seem to hit the ball higher and come in slightly steeper into the ball resulting in more backspin than typical. What helps is to set the loft lower and use a heavier (not stiffer) shaft. Not something that works all the time, but it does for me 6'0" with 6'4" wingspan, and two of my co-workers. Thanks for the comments and hope this helps!
@@professionalclubfitting950 Thanks for the info, i know another fella that is in the same boat so i will pass it on. Keep the great video's coming. Again the no B/S approach wins me over. Too many fan folk out there on u-tube
Can you please do video on these drivers and what shafts are best suited ie swing speeds etc. Just subbed too
Got Callaway coming out with their 47 no upcharge shafts, then I'll do TM next. I'll try to have both out by next weekend.
Like your video's no B/S which is rare nowadays.
Thanks for that!
I want my driver at 44 1/2 inches . Is a counterbalanced shaft or a normal shaft better in this situation if i want to keep the same swing weight?
Swing weight will lower, but usually not by a perceptible amount. I'd stick with the normal shaft.
@Richard Swayze: I have a Ping G410. Additional weights (higher or lower) can be purchased through Ping as well as in the aftermarket. A quick look on Amazon shows that additional weights for the G425 are available, as well. If, with the shorter shaft - the shaft that you want, the swing weight is too low, then get a heavier weight (Ping or aftermarket). I recommend working with your fitter to get it dialed in exactly the way you want it.
Great video! I ended up getting fit into the TSi2 HARDUS Smoke Black RDX 60. The fitter said that shaft would fit my swing tempo, speed and desired ball flight the best. It was nice to see from your videos where that shaft compares to all of the other shafts.
Awesome driver, you’ll love it! Thanks for the comment.
Hey what do you mean hzdus black from the top swingers?
Higher tempo. Feels like you swing and generate clubhead speed from the top of the swing.
Good video. By the way, Aldila does not make Quor tana shafts. They are called Qua Ran Ta shafts.
Thanks for the correction ☺️
