Strange. I remember seeing Beefheart at the Toby Jug in Tolworth, England, around 1968 and thinking he was quite dreadful. I wonder whether it was a bad night , bad phase... or was I spoiled by seeing Black Cat Bones, John Mayall, Jethro Tull, etc etc in the previous weeks. Hey ho... Can't complain about this. Wonderful stuff.

Looks/sounds like they just landed from another planet..absolutely mesmerising and great players and Don's vocal just incredible..harp too..never be another like them they were unique and in a class of their own.
