What Is The Cheapest Square Body On The Market
Просмотров 1203 года назад
With squarebody chevys coming up so much in value its getting tough for the average guy like myself to afford one. I really wanted a blazer but with todays market I felt like I could never get my hands on a squarebody. Well that changed when i found this jewel. I have some where between $3500 and $4000 into the truck. Some items I had on hand ( like buffing supplies ) which saved me money over ...
Bringing some life back into the paint on the suburban

I bought this old ex military rig off a ranch in central Texas. It had been sitting half way under a carport for several years by the looks of it. I buffed it for about 10 hours and this is how it turned out. Still need to wet sand the hood roof and back doors. #squarebody #thatwillbuffout
1996 Ford F-250 Steering Shaft Replacement
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 года назад
I've had the new borgeson steering shaft in the truck for a week now and cannot be happier with the new feel of the truck. It is part # 000981 and can be found very easily online, personally I ordered from Summit Racing for fast shipping and quality service. This is a very easy part to change for the amount of quality it brings back into the driving experience of the truck.

#squarebody Lizard Skin Install, Will The Floor Be Cooler? Part 3
Просмотров 3763 года назад
UPDATE on the lizard skin. I drove the truck to work and when I got home I checked the temp of the floor. The floor where it is treated with lizard skin but not covered by insulation or vinyl was 154 degrees. The vinyl where my heel sits was 117. Back to the drawing board I guess.

If you enjoyed the video please like comment & subscribe. I will put out new content on the Ford soon Alot of the videos I’ve seen have the tires @ wheels off, the axle shafts out, the front diff out, two jacks, some kind of special installer, etc. You don’t need all that to just get the job done in your driveway so that you can keep driving your truck with out paying some one else to do it. Square Body Chevy Alternator Upgrade + How To Clock An Alternator

Quick video on how to upgrade and clock a new higher amperage alternator for a 6.2 diesel. Will also work on gas square bodies.
great, i figured it should be eaiser than they say. that being said every city typically has one store that loans out tools, you just buy it at full price and if you return it you get your money back, if not you bought it, probly at inflated price for well used tool, lol
A lot of wheeling there
Young man did a great job all things considered. I raced on asphalt in the 80's, well remember my first race. Finished dead last, but things got better with each race. I noticed that this video is two years old. Are you guys still racing?
You, sir, are a great uncle.
I remember seeing this car racing at Texana Raceway and Shady Oaks Speedway back in the day
Texana Raceway Park. My hometown
After watching a dozen videos about how to get that bushing out I kept wondering why doesn't someone just saw that metal sleeve out. I am about to start that repair and I decided to watch one more video and you are doing exactly what I was wanting to try. Great minds think alike! Thanks for the video!
Man hate to see that you stopped uploading
Unfortunately it just didn’t work out. I may get back to uploading however it will not involve dirt trackin.
Did you give up on racing?
Yeah it didn’t work out unfortunately.
You are the best uncle.
when you’re cutting the outer sleeve with the saw, are you cutting it through? or just notching it as deep as you can?
It been a year. Is he still racing? And will you guy be posting anymore videos?
Did this improve drive quality/handling?
Yes it does sonce his is all fucked. Bushings is wat ur looking for
is there only 1 pívot bushing or 2 of them 1 on front and 1 on back?

Dam noice job 👍🏼🤠🇨🇦
Looks great. my local track took out the mini stock class now if you want to race you will need a sprint car or a late model or a thunderstock or a modified
Pure stock racing is underrated in my opinion. It seems like everybody gives all the attention to midgets, sprints, and late models. Don't get me wrong, I like them all. Some of the best and coolest guys in racing are the pure stock drivers.
Best uncle ever I been racing since I I was 10 and my dad's brother my uncle is a multi millionaire and he knew that we didn't have the money like the bigger teams did and we was still winning tons of races in modifieds and latemodels but he never once sponsored me a dime but claims to be a race fan, and when I ran my first and only arca race he expected me to let him know pits with me at Daytona as a crew member so he could have unlimited access cuse we raced that one the day before on Friday before the truck race and the nascar Daytona 500 weekend years and years ago and I said nope cuse this was something that money can't buy and he was mad
i wouldn't give you a dime either based on this comment
Do you have a part number for that shaft?
Borgeson 000981
Good job young man keep it up I only raced asphalt and in any class you can think of all over the country and started when I was 11 my first dirt race was in a pure stock 4 years ago and it was a 50 lapper with 5k to win and 32 cars on a bull ring and I stayed half throttle cuse I never raced dirt before and didn't wanna tear up car in all the wrecks then by lap 45 I was up to 4th said screw it drove the wheels off of it and won lol it is very hard dirt racing your first time especially when your use to only asphalt or never raced before it's a dance get that quickner back in you will be more smooth and able to drive faster and just trust the car to stick when you do run it wide open cause it will stick and turn just trust the car and try to keep rpms up as much as possible in pure stocks like this cuse they so low horsepower and torque. Our pure stock is a combination between Nesmith street stock and y'all's Pure stock we're allowed to have a fully fabricated body except for the roof
Oh also another trick if you take a portable air tank that you compress up with air compressor and install it on passenger side fill it 3/4 with water and air it up to like 250 psi and weld on a short piece of. Schedule 80 pipe for pressure and a small valve where he can reach it then run some rubber tubing up to radiator and then connect to rubber tubing that has holes all in it and attach to front and rear of radiator and at the car starts overheating from a bunch of mud sticking to the radiator instead of coming into the pits and spraying out the water hose just open that valve and it will literally wash all of the mud away and cool the motor down during caution laps and especially during long cautions with motor can overheat from not getting enough air because just that fan shroud and the mechanical fan sometimes isn't just enough with all the mud on it out dirt tracks down here are very strict and huge racing scene down here and allow it in pure stocks like this type of pure stock you got only to help save drivers on blown motors from overheating I was the first one to do it the tech guy I thought it was kind of goofy until they all saw that I never came in ever to get the water hose on the radiator during caution to wash off mud and actually helped me win a lot of races by doing that because some races you have to start in the back if you go back to the pits to wash mud off. Trust me you can even use it down front stretch at race speed if you have to for some reason the car over heats. I don't have to use mine I probably about 10 times in the last 2 years but the tracks do get wet enough for the mud sticks that thick as well especially during the summertime down here it rains every day and then when race day comes at some really wet heavy track but they do a good job grooming it out so it's not bumpy so yes that water tank thing I told you about this is very useful tool I want some must have in a pure stock on dirt. Only stock body panel is roof we have to run rest is hand bent aluminum sheets like the front of your car. And now over here and in Texas they're running 10-in late model asphalt take off and they are hooking up better than the old Green Dot and the Red Dot recaps and especially the tires you're using it's kind of crazy but it works I did It for the first Time a couple months ago and it literally hooked up a lot better than a threaded dirt tire or even that sportsman type tire you showed and it works very well and you get the tires like 10 bucks a piece from the asphalt track that only have like five or six laps on it from super late models look up South Texas Speedway pure stocks they do it it's very funky looking but kind of cool cuz it looks like the old school outlaw street stuff with a big late model dirt tires on it. Pure stock down here on dirt any given weekend at all 6 dirt tracks with in a few hours is furthest from my house has 2k to 5k to win pure stock races with 15-30 cars every weekend is only reason I race a pure stock on dirt cuse I'm more of a asphalt latemodel driver but money calls
I love my sheets of pre colored aluminum sheets I go to a local roofing supply warehouse and they sell me the sheets any color 10ft x4ft sheets same stuff you buy off racing body websites and manufacturers and it only costs me 35 dollars a sheet and 120 bucks to re skin my asphalt ouaw latemodel body and 140 to build a dirt ump modified body I do all work myself I just taught my self by copying panels on the first one k did and steering quickner is not scary my first car had one and it was nice not what he thinks it is lol . And especially on dirt with a heavy pure stock or Street stock like that you want a steering quickener to make it easier on your arms to get that car to turn because without a steering quickener you got to turn the wheel at least two times sometimes at least small bull rings just to get the car to steer so I would put the steering quick in her back in just because of on how much you got to turn the wheel without it and a steering quickener actually makes a car faster and a driver more consistent. Sorry for the bad Grammer I'm just using the speak to text
This is so awesome you got on video I was 11 when I got my first race car is a full size mini stock mustang that I raced on a quarter mile Bull Ring asphalt track and I cried when Mom and Dad pulled up in the driveway with it for me to go racing and they tricked me too they said it was my mom's new race car at first and led me on for a good 15 minutes because it was a brand new mini stock m dad just built at one of the other racers shops to hide from me as a bday present in June. Went out for my first race ever no practice just learn how to use the clutch and I literally won the damn thing out of 20 cars so this kid is going to have a blast I know it and you just gave him an addiction for life. Not a bad looking little pure stock to start with cuse it will look like it been through a demo derby after first season lol. I know mine did my doors and finish all beaten but it was an asphalt track too and it was a tiny little quarter mile but still I would always be getting bumped or actually door swiping somebody a little bit and not really reckon them but just bumping lightly but that's part of small quarter mile Bull Ring racing too. And racing teaches any kid responsibility and being reliable and dependable as well cause you gotta be dedicated to your racecar if you wanna race and be competitive or even have fun cuse learning the back is not fun every night and I made sure every race I went to I was not going to be a field I'd be a top three or top four car every night even if that meant staying up till 6:00 in the morning on Saturday then going the track with no sleep for 48 hours after me and Dad don't work on the car to get it set up right because it has some issues. We worked out of a two car wood built shop at behind house with insulation and air conditioning and down here in south you need AC in race shop cuse you get more work done and if you are a construction worker and out in heat all day you won't go work on racecar in heat all night after work
Great series I saw the first video on the car and had no choice but to watch every other one lol it makes me happy to see your nephew get to chase his dream
Thank You for these videos, I will be watching as he progresses, They are closing our local dirt track here at Budds Creek Maryland at end of year. Bummer.
Put that quickner back in.
What happen to the racing videos
We have had some issues and havent really had much for content. We had some damage from the last race, which I believe was his fourth race about a month ago. Derrick was running 2nd in his heat out of 9 and got loose off turn 4 coming to the checker and got hit in the left rear took out the axle, wheel, and tire unfortunately. We havent made a feature the last two times out, the third race Derrick spun out first lap of the feature and the track made him pull off because they thought something was wrong with the car. We had to save a little money to come up with parts and missed what would have been his 5th race. Now the race this coming weekend has been cancelled due to low car counts. Fuel prices are putting a hurting on the track. The car is ready to go just waiting to see when we can race.
I wish I has that lucky but at the same time my wallet is ok with it
I noticed that it looks like you've replaced the front leaf springs. Was there a certain brand or weight capacity that you went with? My '96 F250 springs are dearched and less than 1" away from the bump stops. I haven't decided if I'm going with stock capacity, weaker or even 1.5"-2" of lift.
Mine were sitting on the bump stops and the front tires had a lot of negative camber. I went with a stock replacement spring I want to say from ATS but I honestly cannot remember for certain. It put the truck back up level if not just above level which for me was perfect running stock wheels and 265 tires. I did not want lift springs due to creating a positive camber issue and having to correct it.
I remember now. I got mine from Michigan truck spring. I think it’s truckspring.com
Thanks! I'll look into them. The other place I heard about is SD Truck Springs.
Wasn’t last
I also started in the back and came forward in time. This is going to be great watching him grow. Thanks
I really think you need to keep posting videos and keep things rolling with RUclips cause sooner or later this kid is going to be good takes time
He’s already doing well. Went from 4th to second in his heat last weekend in a 9 car heat and was all over 1st.. Unfortunately got loose coming out of turn 4 coming to the checkers and the guy behind him plowed the left rear.. ruined tire and wheel + bent axle.. we went back out for the feature but brake master cylinder failed. I do how ever need to get back on the videos.
He did a nice job holding his line with other cars around. Looks like that quickner may be a good choice! Looking forward to the next video.
Run a heavier spring on the left than the one on the right
Good Morning, I just saw your post, went back to the beginning post. You must be one hell of an Uncle, that is awesome .. Nice to see a young man get started and learning from the ground up. The kid shows talent , only out twice and you could see him picking it up each lap. Hats off to both of you, looking forward to you next post whether it's on track or off , good luck
Thanks for the kind words
@@wingwindowgarage9289 I started wheeling a hobby stock when I was 14 and the young memeries that where mad ,priceless.
@@dazzlingdick5723 I started when I was 18 and couldn’t agree more. Had a blast for several years. My nephew raced last night. Unfortunately I didn’t really get enough footage to make a video because we didn’t run the feature but he did great in his heat. 4th out of 9 with it only being his 3rd time in a car.
@@wingwindowgarage9289 Thanks for the info, maybe next time you might get some footage
Hes a rookie i get it good job lil reclamation idk if thats 3/8 mile track if so maybe up to your pocket book get a 9inch with a 6.00 gear
5/16
He did fine, seat Time,a direct drive powerglide, and gears
The car is a pure stock, kind of equivalent to bomber or maybe hobby stock.. we cannot run direct drives. Auto trannys must have working 11” converter. 3 speed Saginaw is our best option being that we have a 7.5 10 bolt. It turns 6500 when being driven hard, can’t get much more then that out of it on a stock bottom end.
ruclips.net/video/UaSM7a88UL0/видео.html Skip to the 23 minute mark.. this was common for the car a couple years ago.. same motor, same gearing, same lead now. Only difference is it’s on 8” tires instead of 10”
Wasn't trying to be mean, just my thoughts
@@randybradford3675 didn’t take it mean, was just explaining the situation. Didn’t mean for it to come across poorly. Just thought I’d share a race of the car before we had it.
Basically like what we run in Wisconsin, some fun racin it looks like in the vid ya shared, I've been racing wissota streets for 15yrs, I love street stocks
Driver did a great job for 2nd time out! Didn't loop the car, or hurt it either! He'll get better each time on the track. Car did great too!
I love and want that burb
I really enjoy finding new channels like this. I am excited to follow along on the journey as this young superstar grows. Great video keep up the great work.
Thank you
Excellent! Thanks for the detailed explanation! I need to upgrade the alternator in my 1977 Nova with the inline 6 250 engine. I keep killing alternators and it just occurred to me that it started happening after I fixed the AC in the car. It’s a factory AC car, but the 63 amp alternator that I keep getting at the parts store (per specs) cannot keep up! I was looking for a plug and play upgrade like this
seat time and he will do fine
Young man . . .
Hey it takes seat time! Not bad at all for 2nd time out. Be fun to see and hear some of the pre and post race activities and conversations with the man!
I was steel a little nervous
There will definitely be more of that In the future. Thank you for following along.
Love channels like this , thanx for posting
Awesome ! Get better and better ! First win will be so great 👍
You're right, most people WAY overthink things. I've been a machinist for 45 years and I always do stuff as simply as possible. It keeps costs down and that gets you return bussines.
Please send me a message directly. I think I may have something your nephew would need for his racecar. 😉
