This is my channel dedicated more or less to my model building hobby and related topics. I started modeling as a kid, like most guys, but drifted away in my teens. Came back to it as an adult in the early '90's and started by building several aircraft related to Desert Storm. Then in the late 90's I found Finescale Modeler magazine; learned how to properly build a model and about the same time purpose-built a room in my basement for my hobby. Been puttering away down here ever since. Hope you find my channel interesting.

2025 Motorcycle Group Build - Tamiya Yamaha YZR500
Here's my second entry in the 2025 Motorcycle Group Build. It's the 1/12 Tamiya Yamaha YZR500 and while the kit builds out well, once again the decals, which I got separately from eBay, were not the best. But, I did the best I could with them, and it was a fun build.
I also do a mail call from Tim at Box Stock Garage and I got my token for last year's Motorcycle GB, my first. Thanks again for hosting this GB to Cliff at GI_MECHANIC'S SCALE MODELING and Jamie G's Scale Model Garage.
I may do one or two more before the deadline.

2025 Motorcycle Group Build - Airfix Yamaha 500cc - 2001 Norick Abe Bike
Просмотров 60День назад
Here's my first entry in the 2025 Motorcycle Group Build. It's my first race bike, and first bike with a figure. It's the 1/24 Airfix Yamaha 500cc and while the kit builds out well, the figure is a little tight on the bike, and the decals are not the best. But, I did the best I could with it, and it was a fun build. I'm starting the Tamiya 1/12 YZR500 now, so stay tuned for that. Thanks again f...

2024 was by far my most prolific and diverse year of modeling ever. I fell in love with motorcycles, had my first Buddy Build with Joe at Mad Genius Productions, built my first sci-fi/Star Wars kit, built my first figure, finally completed my USS Enterprise project, and built a locomotive. Along the way, I participated in 6 RUclips Group Builds. Thanks to everyone in the RUclips Modeling Commun...

I found it!! I've completed my collection of "The cars of my youth" with this 1:25 3D Printed 1966 Chevy Caprice. It was designed and programmed by Andrey Bezrodny and printed and shipped to me by Andy Lesiak, whom you can find on Facebook. Revell '68 Dodge Charger - Next Build Intro
Просмотров 162Месяц назад
This is the intro video for my next build, the Revell '68 Dodge Charger, as part of my "Cars of my youth" project. A stock 68 Charger is the first car I remember my stepmother driving, so I'm going to build the R/T version of this 2 in 1 kit as close to hers as I can. Thanks to David Chin and SeamyBMW who are currently building 2 in 1 kits, a Super Bee and Nova respectively, for the inspiration...

Awesome work!... Nice to see other modellers use the hair dryer trick...
Thanks. That's actually a heat gun, but yeah, it comes in handy. 😃👍
Excellent build, enjoyed your presentation, served in VQ-1, 1980 to 1984 as an aviation machinist mate, third class. Did one C.Q. det on board the U.S.S Midway, CV-41 and a West Pac on board U.S.S Enterprise with the EA-3, my all-time favorite aircraft that I had the opportunity to work on. Thank you for your video of the "Whale ", FLY NAVY !
First, thank you for your service. And thanks so much for the kind words and compliments regarding my "Whale" builds. It means a lot coming from a veteran who's seen the real thing. GO NAVY!
Yuge congrats to Sean. Awesome. 👍

This is a Really Cool build!!!! Nicely Done John. Love the scale. Bummer on the decals. Enjoyed the history. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful build! 👍
Thank you. I recently completed the entire project. The playlist for the entire project is in the description.
I recommend the Tamiya M10 TD, I built that kit as my second armor build. Loved it. I heard their M18 Hellcat is a phenomenal kit as well.
Commendable Corsair! 😛 Have a great New Year! Noticed that Prowler on your shelf. Did you work on those beasts? Was a Maneater/Hornet/Super Hornet guy but did work on them & a few other birds in Fallon and China Lake! 😁
Thanks Calvin. That’s an Intruder. No I didn’t serve, but respect and appreciate all who have/do. You can see all those Naval planes in my USS ENTERPRISE video. And individual builds in that playlist. Thanks again my friend. Appreciate your support of my channel. 🫡👍🏻
Congrats on the milestone, John! Looking forward to seeing who wins and the buddy build that follows.
Very cool build John. No way my shaky hands could do a 1/24 bike. LOL Looking forward to that YZR500 build - I am going to do one with Kenny Roberts livery from way back in the early 80's.
Re-VELL...."Long L sound"...not revul.
Great job John very cool I always like bikes that include figures.
I always love seeing your motorcycle builds. Those YZRs are sweet!! Love those little small scale bikes foo. And that Suzuki is going to be incredible!! What a kit!! Can’t wait to see these all come together.
Fantastic year of builds John!! So many great subjects. Beautiful motorcycles and cars with great color choices, terrific airplanes, armor, figures. The General. Just too cool. And that fully decked out Enterprise is incredible!! Awesome stuff. Thank you for sharing
Great job on the Black Bird. What a futuristic looking jet. I'm working on my entry tonight. Bill
Cool bike and rider. Decals can be a tough cookie, especially on rounded surfaces. Great tribute to Abe 🌟👍🌟
Beautiful build John, nice work on the decals, figure really makes it look awesome!!!, 😎👍

Great bikes John! I am on the hunt for that Kenny Roberts bike...I remember watching him back in the day. Looking forward to seeing all of these built up. Liked and subbed! Happy New Year!
@@timcarson8146 Thanks Tim. Yeah that first bike was rode by Norick Abe and in his first big race he so impressed Kenny Robert’s that he asked him to join his team. Thanks for the sub. sub’d you back. 😉
@@mightyjjk1298 Thanks for the back story (and the sub), John. :D
Will a regulator help with air sputtering? Not paint spitting but air out of my airbrush sputtering. Thx
@@gary4738 The regulator allows you to adjust the PSI, as different paints and primers require different pressures. Not sure why your airbrush would sputter. What is your air source? Regulator may even the airflow out, but sounds more likely a compressor or airbrush issue.
Thank you sir for your quick reply. This info gives me more to go on. I have a McGraw 21-gal compressor that has served me well until now. I will continue to trouble shoot. Thx again
