I think you would like The Bishop's Family by Suzanne Woods Fisher. 3 books in the series. I've read the series 3x. Love it more each time. David Stolzfus is the main character, which I loved, a single dad with 6 children and a widower on top of it all. This series is followed by The Deacon's Family, which is just as good as the previous one. It takes place in the same community with repeat characters. I really think you'll enjoy it.

Patty-I live that book. I have read it 2x. I love the sea/ocean, so I totally related to Sally. I am planning on rereading it again before the end of this year.

i went to a few Amish stores with i was in south eastern Iowa and had a fabulous pumpkin whoopie pie with cream cheese frosting. i bought a whoopie pie pan but have yet to make anything in it as i didn't know exactly how. i'm excited to check out your whoopie pie recipe from the cookbook. i have always felt a kinship to the Amish and found out a few years ago that my great grandfather was raised Amish! my parents were both raised Mennonite so i think i'll really be able to relate to the recipes in your cookbook. i love reading anything Amish so will have to check out your books. thanks for the cookbook!
