Is it against the rules to use your stick to trip another player? Is it legal to body block another player as is done in ice hockey and lacrosse? Is it legal to come up behind a person with the ball and knee them in to back, to startle them and take the ball away? Is it legal for two or three players to gang up on the person with the ball, as is done in basketball? Is it legal to use the handle of your stick to jab another player in the ribs to take the ball away? Is it legal to use the ball as a weapon to strike another player in the groin? What are the penalty for any of these?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THE HOLE THING What an absolute descrace for field hockey in south africa we dont play with masks ever not even the little kids and what the hell they should be taught the rules correctly or even get a trained ref... The are hacking like hell and have absolutely zero stick and ball handling skill al they do is tap the ball my 14 daughter will destroy the hole team without even trying.. It is just so frustrating to watch this absolute bull crap they call propper field hockey 😤🙄😠👿no no no no no knowledge of correctly played hockey and no no no no no skill as i am saying again all they do is tap the ball and what the heck the masks again why where i am from we dont ever play with masks not even the little little kids. You need to stop zooming in on a specific player, film the entire offensive zone. No one needs to see one player holding the ball, they want to see the entire offense/defense.
