Had my hernia surgery three days ago still painful it was inginual grown hernia they cut me 13 cm 😢don’t know why so much but still painful open up put a mesh they told me first mesh broke used second one😢

Can't seat long so I my well have it done I do that now after surgery I'll be standing g or laying g down anyway

Two things I'll add: Doc said most people can go back to work in 4 to 6 days. Then he asked what i do, and I told him I'm a plumber. He was like, "ooooh... You're going to be more like 4 to 6 weeks before you can go back to work, and then you'll have to still take ot easy." I lift 120 lb comfort height toilets, crawl through toght spaces and bear hug water heaters for a living. So it has definitely impacted my little one person self-employed business in a major way. Also, nobody says anything about the bruising three to five days later. Basically, at first it feels like you were kicked there by a horse, then it looks like you were kicked there by a horse. Bruising clears up in a couple to three weeks so don't panic.

Just seeing this video! I've been looking into this as I have an umbilical hernia from an abdominal surgery 6 years ago. I am so upset that I have to go through this and I do not want the meshing. My question to you is as a single very successful woman, how in the heck can you take two months off? I'm a realtor, would I not be able (after a couple of weeks) be able to get in and out my truck, show homes, walk my small dogs, go to the grocery store? I can watch the lifting part. It's hard to find help. So thankful you did this video as you said most were from the doctors. My surgeon who did my abdominal surgery, wells he's real old now and he gave me 3 hernias but 2 are not a bother just this umbilical one.

I had my first R/S Hernia with Hydra Seal 70 years ago at the age of 10. I had my current L/S indirect Inguinal Hernia open repair with synthetic mesh 5 weeks ago. There were no intra op concerns. I was kept in overnight because I live alone. Fortunately, I have a good friend who has food shopped for me. I’m instructed to avoid all strenuous activities for 6 weeks, but encouraged to walk daily. Yes, there was pain initially, mainly of the stinging, jabbing variety, to which I attribute the internal synthetic mesh and sutured to living organic tissue, on most even the most careful movement. The pressure dressing applied in theatres stayed on for 72 hours. Normal bathing routine resumed on day 3. Paracetamol reduced pain to acceptable levels and this faded after the first week. One tablespoon of quality Olive Oil, a stool softener and a bread free diet which included cabbage, poached eggs, fish or meat worked for me. Avoiding constipation is a still my number one priority.

Had 3 hernia surgeries. Last was one week ago and I will NEVER put my self through this kind of pain again. NEVER. Worse pain ever.

Hi, I had a groin hernia about 7 years ago and they did the "cut you and place the mesh on the outside" surgery. It failed, because yesterday I had to get surgery again...same exact place, only THIS time, they did the Laparoscopic hernia repair surgery. When I had my first surgery I had a lot of pain for quite awhile, but honestly, I'm still within 24 hours of the surgery and 'm going to walk in snow, down a long driveway to take wheeled garbage cans to the curb for pickup. I am not taking the pain pills they prescribed, since I'm smoking lots of weed and that is doing the trick.

I have watched the medical videos. This one is almost more helpful. It does concern me about the pain. I really was not expecting much. I have tickets to go to a play 10 days out. Think I will see if I can a postpone them. Think I will attach my raised toilet seat on. Blessings to you.
