The Mack quad boxes are very useful they where great in the b81 “mixer” concrete trucks for curb pouring the idle pulls it along at a perfect speed I drove a 1964 b81 tandem dump during the blizzard of 96 here in NJ for 2 days switching off with my buddy nothing like the old BullDog Mack’s I would take a old Mack over any new truck today for work
It's great to see a young man messing with these old trucks .My farther drove one of those for years in S.E. Mass. LOADED with sand and gravel . He earned every penny . Shifted all day long . Hot Hot in the summer , Dragged a canvas ov er every load. Your truck sounds nice.
I had a 58 b75 I really loved that truck it had a 262 Cummins with a quad box had to sell to pay hospital bills someone got a good truck with that one.
Where are you from my friend that’s a great old girl you have there no chrome 1 stack air horn over the driver it’s dirty that’s a Mack they don’t look right with chrome does it have the end 673 P or the end 711

I never drove B81 but I drove a bunch of DMs with quad boxes . Log trucks and dump trucks. 711s and 673s with and without turbos. Good trucks.
Great trucks and great motors - never driven a DM but would love to.

Yeah, I even had a few R Model tractors that were built new without front brakes. At the time some people considered front brakes unsafe

Good job....brings back memories, I used to drive a B Model in the 60’s a 1958 model PA. To Canada hauling New Holland farm machinery.
