Elevator Action Amiga OCS port WIP
After AGA version, a more challenging (and cut down) port in OCS mode:
- dual playfield 8@8kcolors
- attached sprites for main character & other stuff to save colors
Still renders great.

Small WIP video of game starting. Player, elevator & scrolling working. Enemies? well, not quite :)
Elevator Action amiga port intro (WIP)

No game, just the intro ATM, but graphical system runs pretty well upon the transcoded original code from the intro. Letters are actually screen-high sprites that "scroll" independently, which is a cool effect.
Galaga Amiga port WIP

Almost playable, with gfx & game glitches: note: this is much smoother because of emulation. Final result needs optimizing and will probably run at 25Hz

a lot of glitches and issues but trajectories are good, and it's beginning to look like the real deal.

Bagman/Le Bagnard amiga version (alpha)
looking SO MUCH forward to this one Jotd :) cant wait to show this on my retro computer stream when its ready
Awesome!
This is what the Amiga should have been.
Fantastic port.cant wait to play this on my A500
Looks great.
Classic.
Will it be playable in 60Hz? 🤔
You mean on a NTSC amiga? Yes it's planned because it's possible on that particular game, by removing the bottom brick wall and drawing the bottom status higher. The game logic is already 60Hz on PAL so it will also be 60Hz on NTSC.
in the meantime this version has been dropped and the game has been transcoded from the original code and works a treat.
Cara que saudade kk ..joguei muito esse jogo em 1985 que legal
I was wondering when you were going to get around to this, awesome!
I searched desperately for the source/RE, didn't find it but ended up doing the RE work myself. My z80 converter was greatly improved too, which allowed to create a faster conversion. That's one of my favourite games, with Pengo.
@@jean-francoisfabre4170 ,Great to hear your converter was improved and helping in faster conversion. This is one of my favorites to.
Considering that the Amiga 1200 is from 1992, the original machine from 1980, and that the port has been made 44 years later, and based on access to the original code and graphics through MAME ROM dumps, I think it's an excellent version. But please, more original games.
Thanks for your comment. I did NOT have access to the original code, I had to do most of the RE work myself. Also, the graphics for the AGA version were reworked by Toni to have more colors. Note that ECS barely can run this as it requires dual playfield and a clever color optimization to run on 8+8 colors instead of 10+11 or something in the original. This machine isn't particularly powerful, but if you take Galaga from 1981 you'll see that the specs are amazing, and the amiga can't cope without fast memory. About making original games, I'll leave that to others.
@@jean-francoisfabre4170 Of course, I imagined it was a technical challenge to replicate the arcade on machines like an Amiga 500. With a 1200, it's relatively easier in terms of color. Thanks for the clarification.
@@MrJorgalan Yes, most of the time, it's (almost) too easy to port games to A1200 with 16+16 dual playfield, 8 sprites with separate palettes, blank border. But the aim of the ports is for real hardware people to play with, and a lot of people still have only ECS. So if I think that some game is challenging, I start by ttargetting the AGA chipset, then I see if I can create a ECS version (like Moon Patrol)
It’s GalAmiga!!😳
Amazing!! Good job!! About the sound effects, I can hear some noise in the main fire and clic at the end of the sound when you got captured. Keep up the good work!!
Noise in SFX is always a concern for me. I have to find out why.
Looking great. At the very bottom of the screen the stars seem to glitch, is that in the original or are you updating the stars while the screen is being drawn or something like that?
no, there's just a wrong Y step. Copied the code verbatim from my Galaxian port
Some of the Sound Effects and the Score is missing.
yes of course it's very early preview
Looks great Jean
Really looking forward to this. Phoenix is one of my favourite games.
it's already available on itch

Awesome work. It is looking spot on! 😃
superb!
Will this engine work for GAPLUS?
GAPLUS is more demanding, but more importantly, I'm not going to reverse-engineer GAPLUS to remake it. I had the source for Galaga and it's already a nightmare to convert with it!
Jean the man!
Great 😍
You're abaolutely brilliant!!!
Perfect port
Merci 😊
Very nice Jean
Looking and sounding great.
Very nice 😊
Great work , never played the Arcade version.
Awesome work Jean
Where have you been in the 80s... Another fantastic port.
Awesome work!
Well done!
Someone needs to bottle you and sell it as an energy drink!!! You're a one man software army. Looks great.

Good work.
Awesome!
Perfect!
This is 1:1 with the arcade version!!!
This is amazing. And believe me, I know what I’m talking about when it comes to arcade DK … interesting to see that those upper ends of DK’s ladders at the barrels board are visible. Arcade DK explicitly erases these two parts (you can shortly see them tough when the screen is drawn). Does this also have the pies board (introduced as second board at L=03)?
The new version doesn't display the upper girders at all (as erasing them with sprites is wasteful). Not sure of what you mean by "pies board"? You mean "pie factory" level. Yes, this version has it. And newer version will let you choose an alternate order of levels like in Crazy Kong
very cool!
This is excellent work, I can't tell the difference between this running on my emulated Amiga and the original ROMs running on MAME.
Looks outstanding.
Great Work !
Looks great. I think it would be cool to have a port afterwards that ups the graphics ante while keeping everything else the same. MANY years ago there was a DOS based arcade emulator that did this. I still have it on an old hard disk somewhere, but I cannot remember for the life of me what it was called. It did it with like 5 different games and I'm pretty sure Donkey Kong was one of them. Or maybe adds the Donkey Kong Remix levels variation.
Amazing.
That is absolutely awesome! I take it it's a z80>68K port?
yes. It's what makes it so close to the arcade
