@@Nicl-As-05 The boost panels in this game don't give such a big speed boost, and if they're placed somewhere that is far away from the optimal line, they aren't worth going for.

@@renyama8524 I see... That kinda reminds me of MarioKart.

Most of the time in Mario Kart, they put dash panels on the slower paths in order to help you catch up with the rest of the pack which are taking the faster path.

The rewind function has helped a lot to make me better at time attacks. Also, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller has a much better D-Pad then the Gamecube Controller, which makes turning much easier.

@@renyama8524 you played Climax with a GAMECUBE controller? Jeez, talk about masochism.

@@renyama8524 Might just be me but I actually like the Joy-cons a slight bit better. I use both but I've done faster reaction things on the JC (Tetris) a lot easier. Still isn't my OVERALL controller of choice but I do prefer lighter ones.

So, it's still in Japanese outside of Japan? That's interesting. I wonder why they couldn't just translate the rest of the game into English, as almost half of the game is already in English.

@@renyama8524 I guess they don't have anyone to translate it nor the tools to do so due to being an old game. I don't know.

For me personally, I found that Golden Fox can easily be passed on Death Wind tracks by Falcon and dies easily in the pack. However, the Fox has the best handling in 99, making easy recoverys in tight turns. It also can front run on Mute City tracks, with Falcon able to follow right behind in many situations. In my journey to S42, I find the Fox and Falcon to be equal in performance depending on the tracks.

You know what's sad? I did a practice run with J.B. Crystal, before I started recording. I got 1st on all the tracks, including Synobazz! 😂 Skating Circuit has never been a hard track for me, I'm more worried about Empyrean Colony's Twist Circuit.

@Surl9596 I personally don't mess with the acceleration/top speed balance because the higher the top speed is, the lower the boost speed will become. Also, Climax doesn't allow you to shift the balance of speed and acceleration.

@@renyama8524 I wish I had the equipment to show you guys. You basically start a drift and slide before you think you need to. You'll slide sideways directly in front of the damaging wall and already be facing the direction of the rest of the track. Never press the brakes! Let go of acceleration during and then press and hold it again right before the corner of the damaging wall to propel yourself forward to maximize space and speed. I've been playing F-Zero since it first came out and still own my SNES. It's not a brag, it's just a lot of playing the same game simply because it's fun and trying to push yourself just because you can. Now...if only Nintendo would make a NEW F-Zero game because I LOVED the one on Gamecube (GX I believe) but nothing since 2007...come on man. F-Zero 99 doesn't count because it's just the SNES version with additional content added. Where are our Switch releases of F-Zero and Star Fox? Ugh...

@xaicast55 Interesting, thanks for the explanation! Sounds like a more precise version of the expert level turn. I wish we could get a new F-Zero with an awesome story mode! GX's story mode is more of an extreme challenge mode than story. I hope we will get something like an expanded story mode like GPL.

Any machine with low acceleration has scary moments. 🥲
