what kind of camera do you use?

Hey i know you made this video a year ago but what beginner camera would you recommend? I am a coming freshmen soon and i know that i want to be a photographer when im older. I have pretty good pictures too if i could get some feedback that would be awsome. 5:05

How did you lift the freshman bed at pep? Did u use bed risers? We bought some for it bed at pep not sure if we need them ??

that gpa is for first years. not all first years and transfers have to have a 4.0. crazy and you can look it up in the FAQ. youre in the safe zone if you have a 3.0 so it is not true you need a 3.6 yall dont stress yourself out. thats like every private school and public you need a 4.0 or you wont get looked at. even parchment i saw people get in with 2.8.

Girl you are the prove that for photography you don’t need a good camara or even a good editing software just talent and creativity. You are very very talented even in your early stages of photography you were doing better than a lot of photographers belive me. The 50mm problem could be because you used it on an APSC camera?

I drove around the entire Pepperdine campus last week and I am not a student, I was just visiting Malibu and found this beautiful campus that I wanted to check out! The security just let me in by looking at my car! Love the campus, make the best out of your 4 years that you will never get back!

A couple of things to clarify. When people talk about 50mm being what the eye sees, they are referring to full frame terms. So for an APS-C body, you would need a 30-35mm lens to account for the crop factor of 1.5x or 1.6x (Canon) which is the Sigma you got. Not a 50mm, and that's where a lot of beginners make the mistake for their 1st prime (I did the same). The 35mm full frame fov is closer to what the eye sees (28mm inclusive of peripheral vision, and 50mm is if we concentrate on 1 subject). The 17-70 is a f2.8 to f4 btw. Actually, I would say that for people starting off, mirrorless is potentially a better investment (kinda depends). DSLR lenses are losing value rapidly, especially budget options. This is both a pro and a con. Pro for newcomers as everything is cheap, con for anyone who wants to transition to mirrorless because all of a sudden you only get back 40-50% of your money at best, whereas with mirrorless systems, you can usually get back 70-80% at least. That said, for those who want to get into paid jobs, the Canons and Nikon DSLRs are pretty nice and rugged even if they do not have the latest and greatest features. They don't really break/overheat and that's a good thing. However one needs to keep in mind Canon and Nikon basically never cared about their APS-C users and have barely any lens options for them. For people who want to get into photography long term, and are looking to eventually upgrade to full frame, something like a Sony mirrorless a6400 would be a great starting option. The single E-mount makes transition easier when upgrading bodies too. Whereas DSLR lenses will require adapters to work on mirrorless (adding size/weight). Sony lenses are also generally cheaper thanks to 3rd party options. A simple kit that can cover lots of genres would be something like -a6400 body - Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 [Full frame 17-30mm f/4.2 equivalent] - Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 (or Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8) [FF 25.5-105mm f/4.2 equivalent] - Sigma 23mm f/1.4 prime [35mm f/2 equivalent]
