Not too bad! Because of how all the studs are conical. There's very little bite in the turf. Now you may get stud pressure though, although I personally have never got any.

I've seen guys do this and while I haven't done it myself, the logic behind seems like it would work. Ask gcfctraining about it, saw he did the SG with tpu studs for a vapor xi recently.

Hey a bit after the fact, but I finally got around to trying tpu studs for SG boots on AG. And it works! I have a few IG posts coming up on it but needless to say, as long you find the correct tpu studs for the boots it works.

It more so it gives the boot stiffness so that when you’re planting your foot, you have something solid to push off on. Thus when you are running and need to keep going it gives a tactile feel back to your feet. We all have had moments where you are trying to run but you are only running at %50 effort but when you get that tactile feedback you can push yourself to give %80.

Although I just got my hands on the synthetic variation of the Copa Pure.1 and the lockdown in those is similar to the X Strung + (at least in the heel area) Although if you pull the laces super tight it does get tight. But yeah not ideal for a speed boost.

Yes it is quite good for narrow feet, I myself have feet on the narrower side and these fit fantastic. In this video you can skim, and I gush about how they fit my foot.

@@footlooseboots Yeah sure man I'll check the insta pics out, and the boots I was thinking of doing this to are the Adidas speed flow 3s, I've seen a couple people on RUclips say to not add laces to a laceless boot as it could rip the upper however the boots they usually use to demonstrate this are softer, more flexible material than the speed flow 3s, the ones you used look like a similar, if not, the same material, for my specific foot type, the heel on these boots is just a little too light, but the upper is just a little too loose, hence why I want to add laces, thoughts?

So in my first video in which I added laces, I mentioned layers of material and that since the plus model for the Speedportal had the additional material, it would hold up. While I haven't had the .3 in hand, based on the materials shown online, I think you'll be all right adding laces. If you add laces, let me know how it goes for you!

Sorry I cannot, I haven't tried the academy’s yet. Although my guess is the soleplate will probably be the largest difference.

Not that long actually but forgetting the ix’s initially definitely added a lot of time because I had to figure out how to shoot the same shot the next day. 😅

Solid options, but honestly, the Asics X-Pro series is really good. You'll have to eBay them but I found them to be some of the best aggressive boots that I've worn.

As for mainline boots, at this rate, the Puma MG boots are your safest option.

Nike have pretty good AG boots as they have conical studs. Try the Mercurial or Phantoms

The two center studs towards the forefoot are like a couple of millimeters shorter then the FG model, not enough to justify going with the ag version.

Only the middle studs, an like about a millimeter, really no difference besides the extra stud
