'the rules are too complex'? Really? Seems pretty straightforward, you make a show in a Scotland with a registered office and you can call it a Scottish produced show, even if the majority of the crew don't come from Scotland. Has ITV ever had ratings in the same ballpark as BBC1 on Christmas Day, never mind competitive with it? The last example I can think of was Minder vs OFAH in the mid-80s, which the BBC still won. Otherwise, most people just don't watch ITV on Christmas Day. It's generally BBC 1, a movie (in the old days, physical media you got for Christmas, now usually Netflix), or no TV at all. Apart from the glory days of Corrie or of Thames TV, ITV Christmas ratings have always been a disappointment. Everything since de-regionalisation, 25+ years ago, has meant that ITV lost any claims to viewer loyalty.

The only good things on ITV 4 are Minder The Professionals and The Sweeny otherwise i dont really bother. I only watch the main ITV 1 channel for 1 or 2 programmes otherwise.......

Well ITV 3 and 4 Christmas offering I give 3 out of 10. iTV 3 Christmas we had Poirot Midsummer Murders amongst other programmes. But why Poirot and Midsummer Murders in Christmas Day. ITV 4 shows film that they have on throughout the year. So the TV Schedulers need to look again at entertainment at Christmas.
