I think Brian Freeman's novels are fantastic, especially the Jonathan Stride detective series. He is a story-telling genius! I've not read any of his Bourne novels, but I will now! Thanks for sharing this.

I nearly misheard Christine's response to "Do you believe in fate too?" as "That's crab" but I had to re-listen again and I realized she said "That's correct" I wanted to scream at first, haha. While I understand that everyone do not give attention to what fate is, I love it cause I'm a fatalist. This is an interesting conversation with Jenny Colgan. New Sub here!

I’ve read two of her books and loved them!

I'm on Jenny Colgan's Little Beach Street Bakery, #4 of the series, Sunrise By The Sea. These books are a Godsend in this tumultuous time in US history. Thank you, Jenny, for taking me away. I love your writing, your characters, the plots & twists & I absolutely love Neil. ❤

Just finished this book today and found the breakdown on it here. Thank you for posting this - I had so many questions! I cried, I laughed, I cheered throughout this book. Loved all the many themes and the strong female characters who made their own choices. And loved the way the men in the end had the opportunity to experience the hero's journey not as an individual, but as part of an interwoven community.

I'm in the final chapter....I've enjoyed this book. 🎉

I almost judged this book by the cover. I saw the submarine and thought I'll pass. I liked the fact that the authors stayed away from submarines. Then I saw Katie Ryan is back. OK. I am here for her. My only complaint with the new authors was they never mentioned Sandbox or the others. I wanted to see what happened to Jack Jr's siblings?

i am listening to Summer Book Club on audio books and this interview was very inciteful. Susan is a fascinating person to listen to. She understands women so well and I learn a lot about character from her stories. Her comments about writing were interesting also. I am listening to SBC more closely now since I have some idea where it is going and what to look for. Thank you for a probing and in depth interview.

I've tried a few hyped books and they weren't for me. It bummed me out because I'd force myself to keep reading when it just wasn't catching my attention. I waited about a month after Fourth Wing came out to try it. I had to give in and try it because I've always loved dragons. This book absolutely blew me away. It was well worth the hype and Rebecca deserves every bit of praise and recognition she's getting. Thank you for a fabulous interview with her.

Just finished this life changing book. I already want to re-read it!

I’m in the middle of this fabulous book and wanted to stop and search for an interview of these talented women. Thank you!

People with chronic pain don’t get addicted. *They have to find a medication that can make the pain manageable, while people who get addicted want their pain eradicated.* THAT is the difference. I was prescribed a huge dosage of OxyContin, the highest dosage of Fentanyl transdermal patches, and several other opioids that did not work for me bc they did not touch my systemic pain, which has no diagnosis but the closest is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. Eventually, after nearly one year of terrible suffering, my pain doctor finally found what made my pain bearable. I was on the same dosage with the same doctor, with no mysterious losses of prescriptions or medications, for 15 years. But now the state of Wisconsin has taken pain management of any kind out of the hands of doctors and put it into the hands of legislators and I’ve had my meds slashed to 1/3 the dose I’d been taking for 15 years. While my symptoms remained the same with the pain now nearly unbearable, I never was “drug sick” for one moment through the weaning process. This fascist approach to stamping out opioids is absolutely inhumane, but is seizing the nation. I do not recognize my country any more.

I don't write but If I did It'd be better than this chicks book.

Stop prescribing the opiods more than required.. you hit the nail in the head. Focus on preventing this issue first. Rest will fall in place

I grew up a teen boy runaway and loved this book. I was constantly amazed at how effortlessly she painted the life of a kid with no one and all kinds of trouble. I’ve read many of her books and this is my favorite. It’s crucial to shed light on foster care system and the opioid epidemic. Great interview. 🎉

Also gotta say my ignorant arse just assumed it was female author and found when I finished last page and read author bio on jacket I was incorrect. I LOVE that I was though!!!! Anddddd I learned not to make those assumptions henceforth.

Read this when it came out- was my BOTM choice - and really loved its clear focus on generational trauma, something that’s often seen as woo woo talk, but IMO is blatantly REAL

Finished this recently. Have lived in southern Ohio all my life and my fraternal side is from southern ky. I felt this book. She paints plundered ,pain -stricken dope-sickened Appalachia well. Along w the stereotypes.
