I highly disagree with the "you can see the quality looking at the numbers" nonesense. American productions suffer greatly from interferance of unions (generally unions are a good thing) which blast production costs out of the galaxy. TV and cinema productions could cost half as much without unions in America. Famous and masterclass cameraman Robby Müller deliberatly pointed that out in an interview that he will NOT work in the Hollywood system BECAUSE of the unions who make everything a pain to work. Actually you can SEE the problem with unions looking at the costs: 11 Million for 30 episodes vs 160 Million for 8 episodes. It's beyond real.

Okay, I haven't watched this video yet. Just wanna say that seeing this video's title, to me it meant very possibly that netflix version isn't worth it. After reading the comments, I'm glad I haven't wasted time and a single penny watching the netflix version. And I actually thought the Tenceny one was a bit unprofessional! Still, a lot better than netflix?! Dang, I was right never to buy netflix.

There is something relieving about growing old. You stop getting attention, especially from the male counterparts. As teens and young women, many of us are constantly sexualised, objectified and suffer from verbal or even physical harassment from both strangers and acquaintances. As an introvert, Im happy to be left alone now 😂😂😂 Also, it is exciting to observe the pass of nature and start a new phase in the cycle of life. I dont get why so many women are obssessed with staying young forever! We already live under incredible amounts of pressure from society, beauty brands... , to be adding more weight to it. Letting go of all that is actually liberating

They are both really nice, I really liked that the Netflix adaptation had all of the cultural revolution backstory that the tencent version usually skips for obvious reasons 🐻, as well as characters that are a bit more emotional/human instead of purely logical and scientific, tencent version does have a better adaptation in terms of explaining every single thing which scratches my curious itch... Many other points but they are both worth watching!

Too many people thought that she hated humans purely because of her father's affairs, and that she wanted to destroy humans with the help of the Trisolarans. But in fact, she never thought of destroying humans, but only hoped to introduce a more advanced civilization to transform humans. What she wanted was human progress, not destruction. Including her betrayal by Bai Mulin and her use by Lei Zhicheng, these were just one of the links in her complex thoughts that were gradually formed. Personal experience was the basis for her insight into and disappointment in the ugliness of human nature, but her pattern was far more than that. The book "Silent Spring" and everything she experienced and learned in Red Coast also had a major impact on her later ideal formation. Especially at that time, the situation in which the world was sitting on a nuclear bomb caused by the US-Soviet hegemony made her believe that humans could not restrain their madness and had to rely on external forces. And she mistakenly believed that the Trisolarans with more advanced technology must also have higher moral standards, so she placed her hopes on the Trisolarans.

For me the clear winner is the Tencent version, yes it does have passing issues and the CG for some parts can be pretty bad, but overall its far superior compare to thr Netflix version. That being said Netflix's does benefits from the bigger budget, one being some CGI and Set design is better and the international cast is overall ok to good, the Tecent version, Chinese Cast are fantastic but the Anglo cast are pretty bad and can be immersion breaking. Though to me 3 body as a story benefit way more from quality writing then flashy CGI, but the next book, Tencent might need to spend way more money (maybe the same budget as The Wandering Earth) to do the big spectical justice.

While i liked some of the Tencent, i had many issues. The first book didn’t need 30 episodes. It's repetitive with flashbacks and dialog. It explains things and then explains them again. It has weird editing. It cuts the struggle session and changes Ye fathers death, which, imo was core to her character. It looks like it was filmed very amatuer and looks like a commercial. It has some really on the nose product placement. The non chinese actors were terribel. The effects were cheap. I did like some of it Da Shi was very good but overall, i didn’t need 30 episodes of that.

Just finished the tencent remastered 26 episode version, don't know much about the netflix one because pilot lost my interest quickly and while i find all the concepts of this show amazing it definitely had troubles ! its great sf frankly and it might be the most down to earth alien invasion story ever made but.... It really had troubles with its narrative, half the show is backstory and of the other half is just irrelevant subplots one after the other and only a small percentage of it all is the main story, even if there are some cool parts in the video game arc for sure (like the human computer) it went everywhere and nowhere at the same time, i won't even speak about the laughably bad acting from non chinese characters (was it on purpose?) , still acting wise Wang Miao and the cop were on point and both actors had great synergy, what a duo they were, half why i kept watching tbh. Still the doom ending with its small speckle of hope with the "bugs theory" was really cool and show how resiliant we can be. So yeah a 5/10 for me(maybe a 6), took me months to finish because of how uneven it is but this story might actually pass better as a book so i'll try reading it someday it and its sequels.
