Good tips, but you seem to overlook the fact that when farming armies and forts, your whole guild receive a chest with decent loot in it. So if you multiply the loot by lets say a 100 player alliance, you get where I'm going with this....

How many of each (workhorses, swordsmen, ballistas) should I have at tier 1 before moving on to tier 2? Also should I have 0 vestals at teir 1 or just a a little over 100?

I use something similar but use holy nova to heal drakkisath with blizzard. As it's elemental too and offers a huge boost to his time alive especially when sieging. And definitely use fire hammer the damage is insane with the 50% damage to flying enemies and fury up.

just to add some to this u do want to make ur minis uncommon but making sure u can add the Talent to them can make units way stronger the upgrade itself doesnt add much but another level its the talent that adds huge power to units and it also upgrades ur Collection level to upgrade rarity as well as adding a bonus level to unit and when u add the talent to the unit u get another bonus level so yes upgrading to uncommon is an amazing thing to do on a unit just make sure u research the talents so u can get the best one

they have lvl cap but no talent cap soo, u get fcked by someone who spent $100 having all minis with talent, it sucks

My whole team is mostly unbound units. The safe pilot, skeletons, Quilboar, smoke bomb, and the leader that goes down in cost for every unbound unit you use. I usually end up getting to use him for only 1 cost. I just throw in a couple more units to balance out the team and this strategy has been extremely effective in PVE. I use the blizzard spell a lot as well. I haven't played a lot of PvP in this game yet. I just started it a couple days ago. But I'm flying through content using a low cost, fast cycle, unbound team. You didn't talk about the leader I use. I forget him name but man is he great. Being able to use an unbound leader for 1 cost...is there a better leader? I haven't got thar unit yet if it's out there.

Piercing blows is a bit jank, if your on a ramp you cant hit your enemy at all attack plays and you do 0 damage, its line aoe is super tiny and rarely hits more than 1 unit anyways

If you like the game just get the $20 starter and make your life easier and funner. The bigger your collection the faster your minis gain level. A pair of pants was $35 at Costco today. 20 isnt much to ger started in something you enjoy. Great video.
