Children of Hawai'i - in their own words
There are consequences of COVID.
BUT, there are also consequences FROM our leaders' response to COVID.
On this platform, we typically highlight those consequences through the lens of business owners and our local businesses here in Hawaii.
But there are so many others that have been impacted, FOREVER impacted, by the things that we have done, as a society and, specifically, as a government, in response to COVID-19.
While we often hear about the impact COVID has had on our kupuna, other segments have been damaged as well.
Our keiki have also been forever changed.
Many children and teens have been lonely, depressed, inactive, unmotivated, unhealthy, fearful.
We see high schoolers numbing them...

We’ve seen them do it.” Jeff Harwood, Aloha Artisans When you run a small business, particularly a small business in the ohana-focused state of Hawaii, your employees become your family. When you are put into a position of having to lay off an employee, it’s the equivalent of cutting off a member of...
Simply Kennels and Training - in their own words

One thing COVID-19 and the subsequent shutdowns and restrictions has taught us is our deep levels of interconnectedness in our community, not just socially, but economically. For a business like Simply Kennels & Training, though they were “essential” and able to operate through the pandemic, they quickly found when COVID hit that 50% of their business evaporated. Without people traveling, wheth...

Aloha MI Kakou, Brudda Tommy, So Much has happened since this was Posted 3 Yrs Ago. Your Akamai assessment and carefully thoughtful evaluation of the Covid 19 Safety Protocol and Procedures was exceptional and should or could have been used, Sadly I seriously doubt that It was ever Implemented. It probably would have saved many Local Small Businesses from Pau Hana, As your wisdom probably fell upon unqualified Local government administrators, Since no one wants the Kuleana. Going Forward, 2023. Wishing Terry You and Your Ohana and Extended T&T Tinting Ohana. Continued Good Health Happiness and Success..Gary.Chinatown NYC.

Cheeeee!!
Braddahs for Mayor! Wish I seen your names on the ballot. The current state of affairs is a shame. Thanks for spreading your message through laughter and aloha instead of bumping heads like every else.
Love you guys! Mahalo for representing many of us out there who have NO VOICE! God Bless!
Total ignorance!! You need to end the stupid mandates and lockdowns!! She wants more money from the damned government and “relief” aka “other people...the landlords and banks” to take a financial loss because she’s hurting! The whole problem with Hawaii residents...CLUELESS about basic rules of economics, much less the role and scope of what government should be. These idiots deserve the economic collapse that’s coming. Sad!!!
Well vote for Trump. Dont vote for Democrats
How would voting for trump solve a problem that exists under trump?...
Marshma808 Because these lockdowns were NOT CAUSED BY TRUMP. They were CAUSED BY YOUR GOVERNOR AND MAYORS you doorknob!! Trump called for reopening the states economies months ago. If you have half a brain cell you’ll see that the virus does not have a serious threat to anyone not elderly or immunocompromised. Apologies if the polysyllabic verbiage confuses you
We’ve been thinking of you and the boys since March. Touching video
Aloha. So, sorry ABS....what a nightmare for everyone. Maui shut down and business closing. Can't wait to see everyone again. I will visit when I can travel and support ABS again! Mahalo, to the best Waikiki beach service ever. 😎
Amen, Monica. That's the problem with the decisions in government today. They don't have to live the consequences of their decisions. They don't know what it is like to struggle. Their decisions are wild guesses made by appeasement instead of knowledge and insightfulness. Hang in there Monica! We are with you!
