A new version of "The Lord's Prayer" by my friend, Gene Abbott. I arranged the accompaniment for organ and we recorded it one Sunday after church. Gene composed the music in memory of his mother, Dorothy S. Abbott.

Joyful Joyful with Asifiwe Bwana
Просмотров 8378 лет назад
This is a very interesting choral arrangement by Dan Goeller that combines "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" with "Asifiwe Bwana." I played piano for the "One Accord" choir at Richmond's First Baptist Church. Most of this arrangement is in 5/4 time which made this a lot of fun to play. This was the offertory on July 17, 2016.
Star Spangled Banner (2nd version)
Просмотров 6268 лет назад
This version has just one camera view and provides a consistent audio quality (unlike the first version). This was recorded at Richmond's First Baptist Church on their 92-rank Casavant organ that was installed in 1971. I used my Ipod (5) to record this video.

"The Star Spangled Banner played by Elliott Bromley on the 92-rank Casavant organ at Richmond's First Baptist Church (Richmond, Virginia). I apologize for the video and editing quality but I only had my ipod to record this. I merged several different views to show the organ from different vantage points.
"Come, Christians, Join to Sing"

On Jan. 24, 2016, most of Richmond, VA, was shut down due to a very heavy snow. We had about 30 people to attend our 11:00 am worship service at First Baptist and I got to play the offertory since the scheduled musicians were unable to attend. Fortunately, I always bring extra music. Here, I am playing Dennis Johnson's arrangement of "Come, Christians, Join to Sing" for the offertory (based on ...
The Kingsfold Trumpet

This is a great arrangement by Alfred V. Fedak of the hymn tune, "Kingsfold." I'm playing on the 92-rank Casavant organ at First Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. The dedication recital of this organ was played by Virgil Fox on June 2, 1971.
July 26, 2015 Offertory: "Festival Alleluia" by Dan Miller

A church member asked me to post today's offertory because she wants a friend to consider this for a wedding recessional. This is a fun piece to play and one of my favorite arrangements using this hymn tune (Lasst Uns Erfreuen).
Trumpet & Organ prelude
Просмотров 41710 лет назад
We needed a short prelude based on one of the "hymn favorites" selected by my church congregation, so I got assistance from Ethan Massey to play trumpet. This is an arrangement of "Oh, How I Love Jesus." Ethan also helped us out on several other pieces during our service today. He's an upcoming sophomore at James River High School in Richmond, Virginia.

:"Rescue the Perishing" - Bassoon & Organ
Просмотров 63710 лет назад
This is a hymn arrangement for bassoon and organ that was adapted from the Joyce Jones organ arrangement. I recently broke my left wrist in two places so I needed help from my bassoonist friend, Tom Baise, to play this piece.

You call it a drawknob organ console. The console is not the actual organ, just where it is played!
My and that is just a few ranks!
😂😢
Beautiful sound. Such smooth solos on the piano, trumpet, sax.
A brilliant light that burned out too soon.
Rip Elliott Bromley.
i will miss u
This looks like the organ at the University of Richmond. Rip Elliott Bromley.

Virgil Fox style!
This brought tears to my eyes and so many wonderful memories! Gene and I go back more than 30 years. He played and sang for my Ordination but, more than that, I am blessed to call him my FRIEND and BROTHER in Christ Jesus. If you see him, give him a BIG HUG FROM ME!! I love you Gene (I just noticed this was published on my 70th birthday! What a WONDERFUL Birthday present!)
Amen
Praise God!!
Elliot, this is Kim Styron. I've been trying to find you on all the various social media platforms. I happened upon these great videos. How are you? I'd love to see you, and catch up. 😀 I'm still in Bluefield, teaching year number 33...
Hello, Kim! Send an e-mail to me at my work address: bromley@fbcrichmond.org This is at First Baptist Church in Richmond. So good to hear from you! Send me your phone and I'll give you a call!

As good as I always remembered you to be. Elliot, you probably don't remember me, but I stayed at Concord during a couple of summers (late 70's) with a group called Upward Bound. I got to know you fairly well and you would let me hang out in the auditorium when you would practice on the pipe organ. You introduced me to Bach's "Little" Fugue in G minor. To this day, I often listen to it and think of your impressive performance of it.
+Scott Presley - Hello, Scott! I just saw your comment and yes, I do remember you! I just recently was going through some old photos and saw your picture (you've changed just a bit since then) - I hope you are doing well. Let me know what you're doing when you get a chance: elliottbromley@verizon.net
Bravo Elliott!
This would have sounded better if the sound had been in both channels. This is left channel only.
jazzmanx54 - Sorry about the audio quality! A friend had set up a video camera in the back of the church - and it apparently recorded only one channel. It was a lot of fun to play there!
I have a Zoom H2n Handy Recorder. It looks much like a standard microphone, but has a 4-channel digital audio recorder and several transducers that record sound in several varieties including standard XY stereo that I usually use, 4-channel surround sound, and a 2-channel mix of the 4-channel. There are no specifications for the audio quality as usually published for quality microphones, but it sounds good to me. With decent stereo quality recording, its main feature is convenience, just put it on a microphone stand and turn it on to start recording. I have not yet figured out how to replace my camera audio track with the Zoom recording, but it should be easy once I get the right editing software, or just listen to the audio.
Beautifully played my friend
Hey Elliott, Bob Chapman here, percussion major. Thanks for sharing! Are you still in Richmond?
Hello, Bob! Wow, it's been a long time! I'm still in Richmond. Let me know how you're doing when you get a chance!
This is my father, Ken Gleason. Thank you for posting this!! Priceless.
Ken was the best. So much enthusiasm, so much style.
I replaced you on bari. I joined the Commanders in 1980. I subbed on 2nd tenor some as well back then. I miss Gleason. Remember Walt Levinsky? Thanks for posting this.. I had no idea any video existed of the band from back then.
