I just got one of these recently and that is a pain in the as* i used to wear a timex ironman triathlon and that watch didn't do this and in night mode every time you press a button the light comes on (like you need it too) my new casio doesn't even have a night mode cant use anything on watch except tell to tell time

that's not a fatal flaw. it's annoying, I'll give you that. my 5610 has the same "flaw".

Pretty sure that’s exactly how it’s designed in order to improve battery efficiency. I have this watch. It’s fantastic. I beat the shit out of it. I swim with it on, I play ball with it on, like all other G Shocks, it’s great.

Lighting technology has come so far since the 80s. Wristwatch lights are all good now. Just different modalities and philosophies. Some light up the entire display, others only light up the numerals. It’s personal preference. It depends on the mission.

Just mute the sound, then it wont shut it off

Uhm.. the only time you need that light is at night and it shuts off after 1 or 2 seconds to save the battery. Fatal Flaw my ass, you probably put Hublot and Vincero on pedistals they don't deserve, huh?

Does anyone know if its possible to swap the placement of the seconds display window and the date display window? On the bluetooth version these are swapped and it's hurting me 😂

Unfortunately, I've been blissfully using and enjoying this piece of trash for months now, never realizing this FATAL FLAW. I just threw it in the garbage where it belongs, now that my eyes have been opened.

wouldn't say its a fatal flaw, but it sure is annoying. Im a sailor and often use the timer and stopwatch when im out on deck in the pitches of black during nightshift, and i have to press the light to see wich mode im in and press the light agien after every time i hit the mode button...

G shock is a great watch but timex has them beat on the bands. G shock bands blow chunks. I shouldn't have to boil a band to make it comfortable

Don't ruin the experience by wanting everything perfect. From what I've seen not many g shocks actually keep the light on when u switch to different mode. Idk why you expect this watch to be different. This is a great watch. Look for why it's a great watch vs why it's not
