The concept behind WHEN I WAKE is one of “true awakening” - an homage to the fleeting moments of clarity & enlightenment we all feel throughout our lives. In a world of constant distraction, Julian captures these moments putting them into songs like “All Ways Have Truth” & “You’re The Cosmos Too” - songs about duality & an inherent Oneness waiting to be discovered…
Master-minded by film composer & Berklee alumnus Julian Forte, the sounds of WHEN I WAKE can be described as deeply emotional with a catalog that ranges from ambient film-score to acoustic indie-rock. Sparsely instrumented songs like “Keep Her Safe” deliver an intimate & lucid picture of true hopelessness while full-band songs like “Hold The Line” & “The People Will Rise Up” take the listener on an introspective journey exploring current topics including mass anxiety, incessant war, & revolution.
