Only one part of the north American continent and one small war torn country in Africa still uses the archaic "imperial" as a measurement... does that make it right? (even though the official units in the US are actually metric) Logic would lead you to follow from either the lowest (day in this case) through month to highest (year) or the reverse (year-month-day) would be OK, No-one does it year first (AFAIK). But 'Muricans decide to go middle first, then lowest then highest? that's just..... silly.
