Hi Bandile You can refer to the calculations in the video and just remove the cost of materials. E.g. 04:55 R474.87, less the material costs = R207.01/m² Alternatively, another basic method to calculate the labour only cost for brickwork, is to divide the total cost of your labour team by the number of bricks they can place in one work day. To do this, you will need the following information: • Cost of your labour team for a full day • The number of bricks they can place in a day Example: 2 bricklayers @ 700/day + 3 general labourers @ 400/day, costs 2,600 per work day. This team can place an estimated 2,000 bricks in a day. Therefore the cost of labour only, to place one brick per day is 2,600 per day ÷ 2,000 bricks placed per day = 1.30/brick. You can then multiply the labour cost of one brick, i.e. 1.30/No. by the number of bricks in a square metre of brickwall, to arrive at a cost per square metre. I hope this answers your question.
