This time it's modified with a 3S LiPo and Boom Racing Hustler SS tires. There's quite a bit of weight in the front end to test out how it works (hint: GREAT!). Everything else is stock! Pulleys , double strength 💪 ahh so thats how pyramid blocks were moved 👏🏼
Other advice, if you want to waterproof connectors, bearings and hard to reach places I strongly advise using CorrosionX. Carry some of it with you as well, you can spray some on there after water exposure as well to save exposed electronics
Is it easy to remove?
Great little video mate. Some parts were what I thought they were for but some I had no idea haha. Did the manufacturers also give you specs of what size links to use when changing to the 4 link setup etc. ?
What u want guys is called Silicone Modified Conformal Coating! It’s amazing stuff…it’s not cheap but buy it lasts a long ass time. Amazing stuff for waterproofing electronics!!!
Nail polish works better
I love Tamiya RCs and I have built a lot of them but I never liked the way the bodies are mounted. I either use magnets or velcro for all my RCs. Im building a Sand Scorcher right now and Im filling in the hood mounting hole and Im going to use velcro. But I love your paint scheme. It gave me an idea for my scorcher. Im going for Silver blue and gold.
sweet rally car friend
Ill be starting my own brushless beetle rally build in a few days.
Can i fit winch in jy66 rc car
i was told not to hook it up direct to the battery? specially not a 3s battery? why is that.. ive seen installs like this and ive seen installs where they just get their power source from the receiver
smalto per unghie?
Wow what a beauty 😍
So.. Tamiya made marks on the bumper to line up the lights?! ... Japanese are truly authistic..
WOW
👍🏼 👍🏼 Good
what is the scale?
I’ve never built an RC Kit would this be a good starter kit?
Thank you for help me finish my first rc I never finish it without this video
don't glue tires like that, it ruins the look. Pull the tire away and get the glue inside the bead where no one can see it.
Great vid, I received my snatch block today so looking forward to trying out some moves thanks to this clip 👍👍
Hey man. I'm building this with you. Glad of your company and support! This little mini chassis is going to be sweet!!! Right, gonna wash the grease off before the next video.
Have fun!! :)
13 mins in and loving this.... definitely want one!!! Well done fella 🤘😎🤘
Great video brother I needed that info 😁🤙💯
Awesome! Glad I could help :)
Awesome Video💪 I subscribed
Excellent, thank you!
NOT on ebay !!!!!!!
What is the best battery for the beetle?
You don't need anything special, so a budget to mid-range battery will be fine. Just make sure it will fit in the chassis and has the matching plug for your speed controller :)
@@polepositionrc9860 thanks! One more thing though. So i can use nimh or lipo battery? As long as its 7.2v? Thanks again.
@@ericdeguzman9001 A 2S LiPo battery will be 7.4V and a standard 6-cell NiMH battery will be 7.2V, you can use either, just make sure the speed controller you use can use the type of battery you choose. All of my batteries are LiPo so I just make sure my speed controllers are set to the correct type of LiPo: 2S or 3S for example.
@@polepositionrc9860 thanks!
Cool FJ Cruiser! Nice trail run!
Thanks very much! 👍
Very nice work. Whats the make and model of those metric drill bits? I love the case.
its not what i say what i say is how to pot the waterproof ok!
I've been screaming at my monitor for 5 minutes now cause he forgot the 3rd screw in the engine mount
Nylon nuts they're called locking nuts
Some people call them 'nylocs' as well! All means the same thing ;)
Instead of antirattling foam, just stick electrical tape or bit thicker repair tape all over the inside. Just got this idea right now.
Good call on buying the JIS screwdrivers. It's easy to tear up a JIS screw with a non-JIS driver. BTW, JIS = Japanese Industrial Standards. :) Thanks for the video. I'm on my way to buy one of these cool little bugs.
not sure if you guys cares but if you are bored like me atm then you can watch all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend recently :)
@Trenton Sawyer Yea, I have been using Instaflixxer for months myself :D
Cool you put a personal paint job on it great project, a suggestion for a driver figure tho this video is 2 years ago the Tamiya Sand Scorcher has an interior kit, I just subscribed and started following you on Instagram I'm (rcintheworks) my profile pic is a Tamiya Formula E race car thanks for sharing your hobby 😎👍
Find it kinda funny installing a winch on a cheapie plastic bumper....... Good luck on that when it tears off the bumper at the weakest plastic point...... Cheers
Well it hasn't happened yet :) but a servo winch could be installed under the hood if you really wanted. I just wanted a scale looking winch!
Good unboxing video.......enjoyed watching it!
Thank you 🤗
Would hot glue or silicone do?
Yes but it's got to be peeled off when you want to connect something new or disconnect anything.
cool dude you got a new sub man
Thanks for the sub!
What tires did you put on it pal
At the time of the video, these are just the stock tires :)
I just ordered my Beatle Rally along with the Raikiri GT from Tamiya. This video series will be watched over and over when I begin building mine. Thank you for making this video!
Thanks very much for this comment! I hope it can help you get rolling as quickly as possible :)
Bit late to party but ive just bought a venture and it has a clicking noise coming from this transmission upon gears engaging. Checked them out no binding and all well greased from factory alot more so than yours. Just wondered if this was normal due to the slipper clutch. Cheers.
Pole Position Rc, I haven't come across a video from you on how to mount the axle mounted servo? Did you try it? Did you make one? Help.
I haven't yet no, happy enough with the scale look of the panhard bar and all that :)
Great series watched them all
Thank you!
Great series watched them all
Are you not concerned that all that grease on the bearings will attract dirt? Wouldn't some sealed bearings be a better option if you're concerned about weather and dirt?
Sealed bearings would be good yeah but since I'm not going to be driving the car very much I didn't want to spend more on the bearings. The grease can be removed and cleaned off if it ever gets crusted with dirt, and sealed bearings can still get rusted inside (unless you buy very expensive ones!).
New to RC crawler game. Can you hook the power supply to the winch to the lipo battery that powers the truck motor with a splitter? Are dose it need its own power supply?
Hey I'm curious I haven't found any but I thought I'd ask does Tamiya make metal gears in case I want to go brushless on my MF 01 build
I think a mild brushless motor would be fine considering the size of the gears, but a really high end racing brushless motor would probably not be good long-term. For what the car is designed for a mid-range brushed or low-end brushless motor would be fine I'm sure.
Hello what is the size of the bearing replacing the plastic bushing...i run mine and ist too loud inside ..is that normal...thanks
What tools are you using?
These are a mix of mostly HPI pro series tools and XRAY Profitools :)
