FACTS Valery Legasov died April 27, 1988 from "suicide" and Boris Shcherbina died August 22, 1990 ] It is speculated that his death resulted from a radiation-induced cancer caused by his work at the Chernobyl disaster site. Officially, however, it is unknown whether his death was related to radiation, as a 1988 decree that he drafted prevented Soviet doctors from citing radiation as a cause of death or illness.
Just remember it was a “movie” not a factual documentary. Although they got many movie sets right, a lot of the dramatization is wrong. For example, there was a lot more people in the control room then what HBO showed as to being in there, and that’s a documeted fact.
This whole series is about that fateful morning that the Chernobyl Nuclear Reactor blew up. It is in its essence about a terrible tragedy. But, I say, it was about a time of hero’s. All these people who did what had to be done, at a time when it counted the most. It is a story of fortitude, perseverance, and sacrifice. It is nothing short of amazing.
@@NineInchTyrone The ridiculous stupidity of your comment is insane. Covid 19 was nothing like the soviet union back then or now. It was a response to a virus that could be and was deadly to a large part of our population. The masks and shutdowns were necessary and had nothing to do with a dystopian government. But get trump in office and you will get exactly that...My only regret was that more never maskers didnt succumb.

This is a great scene. Lezrov was right, it took a great leader to listen to the right people, take action, even to convince people to die for the good of all.
One of my all-time fav Cubs announcer is Steve Stone. I learned so much baseball listening to him explain the game and the situation. Then Pat Hughes became an extremely close 2nd for his comments, stories, humor, and love of the game.
Ron has a point, nobody has freaking carrot cake for their birthday not that i would be the one to tell Pat Hughes he can't have carrot but strawberry is better.
This is exactly why I always watch the game on mute and listen to the radio my whole life. It took me a long time to accept coomer as a pats new partner
I love Ron but he's wrong here bec Pat did commit to a cake. My fav is also Carrot Cake and I prefer chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. When the birthday person indicates a particular cake for their special day, that request should be honored . Everyone should get what they want on their B-day. Within reason, of course.
European style. Never bested.

Keep in mind that this is a movie dramatization not an actual documentary of the truth.
And what herr is lies?
Most of it, this scene never happened, it was made up for dramatization.
@@davidbaca7853keep in mind the writer/creator and HBO said it was dramatized, thank you for your service of pointing out nothing. Well done.
I was wondering why Russians were talking in English. Thanks alot.
Truly one of the most masterful movies of all time.

I thought this was a TV series?
Made for HBO

One good man and one honest man, a pair that we all should thank were there when we needed them most.
I'm gonna get five thousand tonnes of boron in his memory.
Sociopaths rise to the top. See Pfizer. See UK PostOffice and the Horizon fiasco.
got any more of them pixels?
Just one example of the absolute evil of the former Soviet Union
Most paths to evil is laid with good intentions. The Soviet Union was born out of inequality in the Russian Empire.
It is but also about the administrative state, bureaucracy, expedience, lies, group think, blind loyalty.
Have you forgotten Covid already?

He lived long enough to invite international aid for Armenia after an earthquake.
Where is the live broadcast?
The growth of friendship between these two was the real heart of the show.
It is a lie and bs as usual. It deserves Oskar.

They took this from over an hour to 6 minutes. Who's they you ask, The Ricketts!!
All things involved with the cubs including the neighbourhood and the corpse of Ernie Banks all belong to Tom Ricketts. You looked at me, your dead
Off i75 and everyone was fine phew
Thank God everyone was OK that was a big fire. Thank you for sharing.

Amazing Video bro

Thanks Jarrett. I never heard The Pat And Ron Show, and I appreciate the opportunity. I get it now.
The birthday cake clip never gets old. Funnier each time.
Three and two Bellhorn...what was that Ron?
This is soo Awesome. These guys were priceless together ❤.
God bless Ron Santo.
Santo's hairpiece catching fire after touching the space heater in the Shea broadcast booth is the quintessential Pat and Ron moment.
