What was your first car? How much did it cost? Post in the comments. Greg Wilson from Long Lake Automotive Ltd. and I took the 1961 Corvair Wagon for a cruise. We talked about our first vehicles. Greg's first vehicle was a 1969 240 Z. My first vehicle was a 1968 Dodge Coronet. I paid $200.00.

jeez look at that steering wheel Impaler hasnt that poor car had enough bad press
That's not a stock wheel -- at the very least, they stuck that chrome bullet on the hub.
@@jazzfan6 your probable right but I wouldn't put it past them no one in those days thought of padded dashes, impaling on the steering wheel before collapsing ones, seat belts that was for sissies, I have seen sharp pointy steering wheels and felt the cold steel of the dashboard as a kid
Doesn't that Corvair steer very nice!
It sure does steer nice.

First car, my sister's old '70 Beetle. Granny bought it new, then my Aunt had it, my sister, then me. I bought it for $300 in 1985, drove it for the next 17 years. Permanently retired in 2001 due to severe structural rust. Yard art ever since. Had it almost 40 years now... PS Corvairs are cool, and have three of them now...
Cool story. Thanks fir sharing.

@@Vicc55 Thanks Brad...nice little car, excellent price (even if it does need some floor work)...
Very fair price if it is not badly rusted. Automatic transmission? Mileage?

My first car was a 1937 Austin-7 that I swapped off an old-gentleman (who could no-longer drive ) for my immaculate 28" BSA bicycle , when I was fourteen . My father took it off me when he caught me driving (underage) and his friend took it , giving me a .22-rifle that I was Also under-age for ???? I got scammed
wow. That is too funny. That made me laugh. Thanks for sharing.

In 1962 the name Lakewood was dropped.
Ralph Nader in his book "Unsafe at any speed" didn't say a word about tire inflation causing the instability of the Corvair. He pointed to the construction of the front suspension and rear axle. By the 1965 model year the rear suspension was completely independent and the front suspension shortcomings were corrected by 1962.
@@johngaither9263 We have another video coming up and talk about the suspension problems that was fixed in later models. We also have a video coming up with a 1965 Corvair.
Correctly stated.
