I think your theme for this year is really great. Maybe when shopping you can mindfully check in and ask whether the purchase is going to help you rise? It sounds like there was intention to care for your body with the equipment you bought. That’s self-care and not something to think about as failing a challenge. Now to make the most of the equipment you bought by doing the pilates exercises so you feel great about the decision! And of course puzzle toys are worth it 😂 My 16yr old Schnoodle (who I like to say has ants in his pants 😂) is always hungry on his medicine so I use puzzles, fabric snuffle mats and a silicone textured licky mat to slow him down and keep him mentally enriched. Edited to add: my boy walks twice a day, rain or shine! I bought him a cute safety raincoat from a brand called Kazoo (I think they’re Aussie) so he doesn’t get too wet. We have had crazy storms this week so we’re constantly on the lookout for a break in the weather. We have multi deck public carparks and Bunnings (a bit like Lowes I think?) where we can walk for exercise if it’s too hot or wet. He still needs to go outside to potty though!

I'm so glad you got the real gouache paints and not the acrylic gouache. I have heard that it's a learning curve with real gouache but I'll have to watch you before I take on another medium.

I just remembered Heaven Scent perfume from the 70s. Loved that!

It's so funny. I moved to the gulf coast from north Jersey in 1989 and it was probably 10 years before I bought a winter coat. Guess my blood finally changed because if it gets below 40 you would think it was below 0. Loved Maybelline eyebrow pencil and 70s makeup. Have to admit I haven't really changed my makeup much over the years, or my style. I've been bringing some watercolors and some books to paint in from my upstairs studio room to downstairs, knowing I would be doing stairs for a little bit after my operation on Monday. It will give me lots of time to just do art. Glad you're staying warm lol. Have a great weekend.

When I feel like treating myself the Christian Dior Diorshow mascara is my favourite. Unless they have changed the formula since I bought it last it smells like rose water. Nowadays I am mostly buying MCo dupes because they’re vegan and inexpensive in Australia because they’re regularly 40% off. The perfume I wish they would bring back is Miss Balmain. There’s nothing that comes close.

lol you had me worried when you said you couldn’t buy glasses. To be honest I have 5 pairs of prescription glasses around the house, in my bag and on my work desk. I need all of them 😂

I ordered temu items not realizing that it is local. I was charged 5 separarate delivery charges that cost nearly 3x's what the items cost. I will not order local again. When I looked at a return address on Google, it showed a private home in California.

I'm so glad you're doing these videos. I just got a new watercolor book and I got a small set of granulating water colors that I'm going to play with. This whole book will be watercolor exercises (thanks to you!)

Those stencils look awesome. I’d go grab some myself but temu is dangerous for me. I will go to buy one thing and end up with 20. But those stencils are tempting, if only for the trees. And I have to say, some of my favorite washi tape has come from temu.

Happy Birthday! Your plans are great for the new year. I'm very jealous....I was single until 32 working on wall street. I loved every minute of it(being single). Got married and moved to Alabama 35years ago, which I've learned to love the gulf coast. Now my husband has retired, don't get me wrong, I love him...but he's here 24/7 and I'm a loner at heart. When I'm in my studio he likes to check in fairly often to make sure I'm ok LOL. Anywho, I too am looking forward to lots of arts in the future. I have surgery on the 13th and will be housebound for a couple of weeks before I can drive again but then it will be full steam ahead.

I like the idea of the tickets/vouchers for yourself to help with budgeting. I used to go bush walking all the time in my national park but when I got my dog 16 years ago it pretty much stopped me going as dogs are banned in Australian national parks for the most part including the parking lots. I get the reluctance to go to a place you can’t take your pup, especially if they’re missing out on a walk, it makes me feel so guilty! I tend to stick to areas he can go with me.

Really enjoyed this haul! Is it possible for you to give us the Temu links for both of your stencil packs? I perused almost all of their 4 billion stencils and none look quite like yours. If you don't do that it's ok. Thanks for sharing.

Happy New Year! Use the Arches paper. It has animal based sizing and it can expire after a few years. When that happens, the paint just soaks into the paper and it’s very frustrating.

Wow thank you for introducing these books . I am homebound right now and even though I painted with acrylic and oil Water color is easiest for me to do right now. Wow was I wrong about water color being easy. watercolor is more complicated than I knew. So I can't wait to see these books. Again, thank you.

Just found you, I like how you teach. In this video you show a colorwheel. I’ve taken a snap of it but better would be if I could purchase. Is there a link to this or is this wheel your own design? The colors on this wheel are similar to the pallet I paint with. Thanks, great tutorials!

I intended to take classes this year, but my husband lost his job. Getting a book that I could do as a class in 2025 might be the way to go. Inexpensive, but productive. I am a RUclips junkie, but online classes aren't really my thing.

What a great video. I went through a real rough patch and art time was sacred. It prevented me completely lose myself in the situation i was in. It was so hard ans i was so tired but if i could just do 15 minutes i did. Had to let watercolour painting go but started adult coloring. It was easier and less time consuming. But the important thing was that i was doing art. Whatever the medium.

Sarah Simon’s books are awesome the paper is awesome. I learned a lot on mixing colors. I think that’s what i learned the most. Yeah mixing colors and make your color palette. The color recipes part is the best.
