    Thanks for your video. Can you tell me what size of micrometer you have used in this video? Also,, is it best to clean out all the Valve Shim buckets before measuring your clearances? My Valve shim buckets are all one piece (Suzuki Alto GF), so I'm thinking that I have no choice but to clean them out first. How is this normally done? Thanks again for your video, it's been enormously useful!

    no need for vacuum pump...... take tip of steel pipe going into slave..... place rubber fuel pipe over it and place other end in bottle..... let someone press pedal until fluid comes out into bottle..... take away pipe and hold your finger on tip.... quickly insert into slave until it clicks into place..... pedal should be hard immediately .... worked for me when bleeding same bakkie ❤

    the tensioner motch should go over some 30% after the marking position as it will move back a bit when the belt is working.

    Without further VSR balance as a complete cartridge it is also advisable to mark the thrust collars depending on the quality of parts used as the smallest of inconsistency with parallelism of the surfaces can affect the balance. Proper solution is a VSR balance to ensure the longest life out of a rebuild.

    what exactly should we see on the cam when piston 1 is at tdc? cam notch at centerline based on cam retainer arrow? or first of two cam dots? my flywheel pulley has no timing marks

    • @mcguirepeter
      @mcguirepeter 3 месяца назад

      I found with mine that there is a notch on the camshaft (sometimes there is not) it looks directly up and also the dowell for the gear is right on the top. The 2 dots dont line up with anything but markings on the chain its self. Also most times the TDC mark on the crankshaft pulley is not correct. The best way to find TDC is to isert 2 dowells into the inside part of the crank pulley and line them up vertical, straight edge and level.

    If I'm not mistaken, that is a very conservative approach to material removal. I felt like you could have removed another 2gms from each piston without any real trouble. I would like to go more into the removal of the little end 'rib' / I'd like to know what you can really do with a stock cast piston. I have an Alfa 2.0l which I want to lighten and balance and I'm wondering how far I can go with stock parts.

    I'm looking at a similar project but don't know where to start I have a diesel fuel pump from a Landcruiser, which I want a microcontroller to take the input from throttle, then tell the pump what timing to put in at what RPM. So the only input I need for this project is Throttle control. On the microcontroller I'll bench tune the pump (with fuel/timing) and map select. It will essentially have the same control as a mechanical pump, with the advantage of the electronic fuel pump (more power) without having to spends thousands on aftermarket ECU's ect

      Hello. Basically what you are describing is an ECU. You can get cheap plug and play ECUs that can do that for you. I will eventually do how to make an ECU but i first need to do auto electrical 101. You would need to code in a 2D Array on C++ its a bit tricky but can be done. I hope to do more tech videos in future similar to your needs

    • @loverboykimi
      @loverboykimi 4 месяца назад

      incorrect. Then loosening cam gears is pointless. Just mark and put the belt. Loosening gears is for proper tension. Many dealers dont loose the gears but i think it is not good approach.. This video is best proper time belt change in youtube I believe.
