TW wasn't giving the custom lite the black Friday discount but the new lfs rods were on sale so I bought 2

Just received two of mine from land big fish 20% off with Black Friday. Both of them were not painted right on top of the reels. I’m sending them back for an exchange. I think LEWS needs to be a little bit more vigilant with their quality control. Especially for what they cost.

I would like to try the ultralight but i wonder if its a true ultralight or closer to a light like some of the other lews rods

I just ordered a 7’3” medium heavy fast action from tackle warehouse. Looks like a sweet rod. Got it for $103. Been fishing with Fenwick for a long time so this is stepping outside my typical brand loyalty

JB3, this rod stuff still throws me, I'm oldddddd school, when I grew up fishing, we had one rod and called it good, now days everyone has 20 rods and reels , one for every purpose, water condition, " This is the combo I use when I'm eating beef jerky "🤣, I do like the looks of that Lews 2 piece LFS spin rod, may pick one up to pair with my Lews Custom Lite SS Spin Reel ( thanks )

Thought lews was cheeks after I switched to shimano/diawa but picked one of these up a few weeks ago & it changed my perspective of them. Hard to beat for the price.

I used to have Mach reels and loved them, but now my box is Custom Pros, a Magnesium Pro, 2 Lites and 2 Pro Ti. There is a drastic difference between the higher end reels and entry level but they do get the job done.

Well, I received my custom pro gen 3 finally, so what line do you recommend ?

Living rubber jigs are 🔥. I like real fine jig skirts too. Heavy/medium heavy rod. Rage bug or punch bug for trailer!

I'm just not confident with my jigs, like them, seems like they would get bit, just worried tossing from the bank is going to get me all kinds of snagged.

I have the Lew’s Andy Montgomery skipping rod and Lew’s SP casting reel. This is an excellent combination. I am not a real good “jig” skipper. But, I can really skip a Yamamoto Yamatanuki way up under a dock.

Enjoy all your informative videos JB! Ive been throwing the Redeye on Andys bladed jig rod. I like the extra length and backbone with the parabolic action!

I tried using Andys Thunder Cricket rod for buzzbaits but it lacked a little power. Since then I got the target/ spinnerbait rod. Loved that blank in the GC4 series and switched to signature for less weight!

Got the 7'1 rod with the pro SP for my setup JB! Just need more time on the water to experiment. Want to try the jig/worm rod with BB1 Pro as a frog rod. Best of luck in the tourney!

Hey bro thanks for vid, 7ft u said bottom contact, I go 3/8 jig and as light as the rod will throw, I would cast with it instead of flip or pitch and for me 7ft is more accurate and I can skip better

My suggestion would be to match the lure to the size of bait. At lake Anna here in VA, they have threadifin, gizzard and bluebacks! I've seen big bluebacks up shallow in the spring.

The 8Xd is what Todd and Andrew use. I have a 6XD with a BB1 Pro that Mark Davis recommended. Team Lews pros are fantastic!!!

I had custom lite spinnerbait rod and LFS reel. Caught a 5 and 7lber this spring but, just broke it. Going to Kevins 7' spinnerbait rod.

That maÿ be my next reel in my collection. I have pro SPs, BB1pros, custom XPs and 99$ LFS. I have been following Todd's channel and Lews for rod and reel info! Love my LEWS! Thanks for you videos also.

My setup is Kevin's top water rod with an LFS reel. I use 30lb braid for the splash and 50lb with sexy dawg. Like to have a hypermag or tourney pro reel for weight. Andy M. uses Kevin's jerkbait rod for top water also!
