You’re rinsing off the starches from the pasta that helps the sauce stick to it
You're right! Rinsing pasta does remove some of the starches that help the sauce stick better. However, I do it to stop the pasta from overcooking and getting too soft, especially when I’m planning to mix it with the sauce later. There are definitely pros and cons to each method-it just depends on what kind of texture you prefer! How do you usually prepare your pasta?
@@wfhlifewithashley cook it al dente and take it immediately from the water into the sauce with tongs or a slotted spoon. I don’t strain it in the sink. The pasta water still on it helps with the sauce consistency too Not to mention, you don’t dirty a strainer. Less dishes is always my go to 😂👌🏻
