Why I Haven't Been Crocheting Much Lately
So cute. Lovely review. The moon did look like you had peeled the banana to me, so maybe is a better banana pattern for you? Your review made me curious about micro crochet and micro amis. Thank you.
Great idea!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the review! Thank you! 🧶🧡
Hope you feel much better soon. I loved your video and thank you for taking the time to review the book for us. I will e getting this book. Take care. ❤❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching! 💕🧶
Hard relate to that grumpy pineapple lol. Great review as always Sonnet!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😂🧡🧶 Thanks so much!
Really cute book! I think these would look adorable as a garland. My fav pattern of the ones you made is def the beetroot.
I agree! That beetroot is so cute! I can definitely see them as a garland. 🥰🧡
So making cheeseburger earrings!!! I'm glad you are feeling a bit better!!
Heck yes!! Thank you so much! 🧶🧡
Thanks for the review. All your makes are so cute. I may want to give this micro crochet a try.
You should! It's really fun! I appreciate you! 🧡🧶
💜 🍍 !
🧡🧶🍍
i love this series so much
Yay! I'm so glad! 🧡🧶🧡
Thanks for this review. I make keychains to go a long with my Etsy orders, as a free gift. I'm always looking for really cute keychain ideas.
Oh that's so cool! I hope you get some more great ideas!! 🧶🧡
These were so cute. I immediately checked it out fom my library on Libby. I teach knitting and crochet and I wanted to see if my kids could make any of these in larger yarn. I think the Sweetie and the plants and the school items were would be fun. But I will have to keep it to the simple ones. Thank you for sharing.
That is awesome! I love those choices, they are great options for larger yarn. There are lots of other simpler options as well! 🧡🧶
Pretty sure that teeny tiny pineapple is my spirit fruit. Lol THANK YOU for reviewing this book! I’ve had my eye on it; had no idea it’s Uk terms…also, surprised they’re more simple, you know? Huh. Not what I would have expected, but that’s what is SO AMAZING about your G-B-A reviews!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Happy belated bday, buddy!! Lava 😊🧡 xx
Lol you and me both! Thank you, friend!! Happy Belated Birthday, birthday buddy!! Sending all my lava
Thank you for doing this video 🥰 You sparked my interest enough to put it on hold at the library. 🧡
Awesome!! Love getting ami books from the library! I hope you enjoy! 🧶🧡
Thank you for going over this book! I really appreciate the work-ups in the multiple weights. Crochet thread is very difficult for me to use, but you show us we can use other yarns. I will probably not get the book, but I’m very interested in what those buildings are all about. I hope you feel all better soon!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you! 🧶🧡
Thank you for this review! I’ve been contemplating on trying micro-crochet and eyeing that book specifically! I may just have to try it out next! I hope you start feeling better ❤
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the book if you do try it out! 🧡🧶
Oh ! Wow! A new to me book. I didn't realize she put out another... i must check it out. Thank you for the share.
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy the book! 🧶🧡
I really struggled understanding how to add the arms and legs in, I did buy it, if you could explain how to do that it'd be great, also I'd love to know how to change the patterns to not have the slip stitch chain one as well
So when attaching the legs, I would pay close attention to how you insert your hook into the legs. There should be some photos in the book showing that step. It's been a while since I have made one, but if I remember correctly, you're supposed to insert the hook from the inside of the leg to the outside. As for the sl st, ch 1, I skip that altogether and then work the next row into my first stitch of the previous row.
Hey Sonnet, happy super close almost your bday! :) So happy you got to see your artwork I started talking to Jolly Holiday and she is super nice. So proud of you!!! I wish I could have gotten that one but, allergies. Sigh. I loved watching you and Cindy talk about it and open it though. So pretty! Ugh Crochet Society just cannot get it right for me. I too buy it for the yarn and the boxes. Pretty much just that anymore. But 6 days of grey?! Unacceptable in my eyes. My favorite has to be The Last Crusade because Sean Connery, I mean come on. Side note have you seen LXG? He's incredible in that!
Thank you so much! Haha, but I do agree, there was too much grey! 🧡🧶 I appreciate you!!
is there a video with the finished blanket?
Unfortunately not due to several reasons. I discuss those reasons in my New Year, New Crochet Goals video. However, I'm starting a new one this year, so keep an eye out for that one!! 🧡🧶
I love how the second advent calendar combines books, tea, and yarn! Three of my favorite things! Also super excited for Onyx Storm coming out next week! I’m rereading Fourth Wing and Iron Flame right now to prepare!
That's awesome! I am so excited about it, too! 😭💖 I haven't had a chance to dive into it yet, but I plan to this weekend!!
absolutely love this video! Thank you for investing your time into rounding up some nostalgic patterns (that aren't copyrighted).
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun making the video 🧶🧡
🙌🙌👍
🧡🧶🧡
When you said “the most famous rabbit”, I was more thinking of Bugs Bunny from the Looney Toons. I actually didn’t know about Peter Rabbit, until those live action movies, were made. But I’ve known Bugs Bunny, since I was a young child. Maybe that’s due to living in the US.
Haha I can see Bugs Bunny for sure 😄 🧡🧶🧡
Thank you so much for this, I want to make Ann of green gables and Winnie the pooh 😍they are so lovely !!
Awesome! I hope you have a blast crocheting them up! 🧡🧶🧡
Just found your channel but as a fellow crocheter/book lover, I love keeping your channel the way it is (covering both books and crochet).
I am so glad you found my channel! I appreciate your support! 🧡🧶
📚🐛
🧶🧡📚
I'm so tempted to make the Winnie the Pooh gang in crochet thread. Might add that to my queue.
Oh wow! That sounds awesome!!! 🧶🧡🧶
🤗👋
🧶🧡🧶🧡
LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! as a trained librarian that helps run a summer book mobile, I need every one of these patterns! I would also like to find Pippi Longstocking, Laura Ingalls Wilder and Madeleine.
I'm so glad you liked the video! I have already started compiling a list for part 2! Adding those to the list! 🧡🧶🧡
Well done! And your artwork for the advent calendar was beautiful!
Aw, thank you! I appreciate that! 🧡
From your chosen characters, it looks like your reading taste is the same as mine. Anne Shirley is a great idea.
Love it! Yes, Anne is so adorable! 🧡🧶🧡
I like Frankenstein’s monster because he’s so colorful and a bit zany. Haven’t read the book though 😢
He’s so silly for sure!! It’s a great book for sure, but everyone has their own reading tastes! ☺️🧶🧡
I made Cthulhu for my hubby (and made it to pattern), but it seems not many people know who is Cthulhu, and it really surprised me!
Oh that is so cool! I love Cthulhu! It’s definitely a very niche character ☺️🧡🧶🧡
I’ve made the vintage Winnie The Pooh pattern before, only problem I had was attaching the ears, when I tried to sew the ears on the way it was shown in the pattern picture it just kept looking like I sewed them on backwards 😅 so in the end I just sewed them on how I thought it looked best, other than that the pattern is really easy to follow along with. 😊
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the pattern!! 🧶🧡🧶
Not me being up in arms that there’s nothing for Jane Austin 😂 (though I’d love a part two with justice for Jane and Brambly Hedge)
The designer who did Sherlock Holmes does have some Austen characters! Yeah, I was waiting for Jane in this video too 😅
Lol I hear ya! It was either between Mr. Darcy or Jane Eyre, and I had to go with Jane 😆 Jane Austin will have her redemption in part 2. Love the idea of Brambly Hedge too! 😉🧶🧶🧡
Weirdo English major here (I have a masters in English Lit/Folklore and I'm getting my MFA in creative writing) with some info about H.P. Lovecraft and Cthulhu. Lovecraft never copyrighted any of his work where other people could build on his stuff. It's why there is so much Cthulhu stuff out there. What happened with copyrights is a RPG company came along and copyrighted their stuff but they can not copyright the characters themself. It's really interesting to read about how the copyright on that works because individual copyrights (like for RPG games and tarot cards) can be copyrighted along with the art work that goes with these things, but the characters can not.
Wow, that’s really fascinating! I had no idea. Thanks so much for sharing that information!!! 🧶🧡🧶
The Peter Rabbit is so darling. I loved those books as a kid. The Poe is darling too. Happy almost birthday! This video was extra fun for me, as I had read at least some of everything mentioned! I’d crochet any of the patterns you shared except the book worms. I’ll happily watch any pattern videos, and don’t *really* have any ideas, but I’m currently making a crocheted moth (Pica Pau) for a friend’s daughter, and I was surprised about how cute it is and how it is turning out. I was kind of wondering if there were any patterns that you have made where you didn’t expect them to turn out so well? Or that you made for someone else, but wouldn’t have made otherwise, and yet you were pleasantly surprised? Lots of lava.
Oh yes!! There’s quite of few that turned out so much better than I expected! Haha. That sounds like such a fun video idea! Also, I have crocheted quite a lot of amis for commissions that I would have never made otherwise. Some I ended up loving, some, not so much 😆 🧶🧡🧶
SUCH a MARVELOUS, MARVELOUS list! I also love Cottontail & Whisker & Amour Fou. These are fantastic recommendations & I love the book connections. Also, the bookworms! Gah! My hands are never gonna recover, lol. Thank you so much! Lava! ☺️🫶🏻🧶
You are so welcome! I'm glad you liked the list! 🧶🧡
As a beginner I am STRUGGLING to figure out how to make progress through attaching the legs to the body piece. Wish I would've watched the review before getting the book. Maybe I'll have to try to come back to it eventually 🥲
I'm sorry you're struggling! I know the feeling. That part is definitely tricky for new crocheters. I hope you give it another try when you are ready! 🧶🧡
Happy New Year! As a trained librarian, I love the idea of a book blanket. I love the idea of using the colors of the cover. I know my life would require it to be a simple square. May your year be a time to focus on you! Thank you for your channel!
Thanks so much! I appreciate your support! 🧶🧡
A book blankets is interesting to me. I love reading!
So far, I am having fun with it! It excites me every time I finish a book because then I get to make the square! 🧶🧡
@ you might have said this…do you make a square based on the cover colors??
@@christagregg9363 yup! So I actually have 5 different square patterns (all very simple and quick) to represent the rating I gave the book (1-5 stars) and also the color of the square is based off the cover :)
@ this is such a fun idea! I hope you will share your here at some point. And obviously the books!
Hi l wanted to know if a size 4yarn woud be ok for this book because sometimes patterns of chanele yarn don’t work and faill 😭 l love you re channel !!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️ Happy new year out with the old in with the new 🕺🏽💃🏽🥳!!!
Hello! Absolutely! There are even sections of the book that talk about using different weights of yarn. So yes, a size 4 would absolutely work. They just will be a little smaller and not as plushy :)
I think you can do whatever you would like on your channel and I will continue to watch. If you decide to make another channel I will follow you there as well. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for being you
That's so kind of you! I really appreciate your support! 🧡🧶
You did such a great job of explaining the bags and books for each day!!! ❤️You definitely helped me “get it”. Since I rarely get to read these days, knowing novels isn’t my forte anymore. Thank you!! And I didn’t know we each got a different book at the end. So cool! I’m so glad you got me hooked into this advent, worth every penny! Wishing you a blessed New year my friend! ❤❤
You are so welcome! I appreciate you, friend! Can't wait to watch the second half of your review!!
I hope you will use your artistic talents to create your own line of amigurumi patterns.
Thank you!! I aim to make coloring pages and stickers of all of my patterns to help incorporate my artwork in there!! 🧶🧡
Love that multiple sizes of crochet hooks came in the set... I saw a few that came all with the same size which doesn't work I'd you can't get gauge with the one provided Thanks for reviewing both advent Calenders. Great artwork
Absolutely! I totally agree that it's great to have a variety of sizes 🧶🧡
