Yeah SACD 💿 cds supposed to sound better than regular cds but most cases not. I believe a well recording track from the get go always going to sound great no matter what format. Great video though 👍🏼😊 happy holidays 🎄👽✌🏼

Thanks, this was really helpful. My Technics RS-B 965 suddenly stopped playing and I followed your instructions and cleaned the switch. This did not sort out the problem but no harm in cleaning it up. While cleaning, I noticed that the drive shaft from the main motor is just a few mm to the RHS of the switch in question. This turns a small gear wheel and this (small gear wheel) had moved forward (towards the front face of the deck) and was no longer engaging with the other gear wheels - resulting in no play. ff or rew drive. I used the flat side of a small screwdriver to relocate the small gearwheel. Works! However, I can see it is going to slip off again, and if it does, I'm going to carefully glue it, sufficient to stop it slipping forward.
@@Prze1999 glad you could fix it easily. We should all service the drive gears ⚙️ to be honest, and just replace them, lubricate capstans too and other moving parts, …. Well, it’s a big service but than you know it is good for another 20+ years 😎
@@technics-n-thuiast8346 Hi, I wish I had the skill to service it. I did clean the heads and capstans, but no more. Once again, I can play my old cassettes. Unfortunately, mine no longer records and I have no clue what is wrong. It's a shame but I don't really need to record - there's MD & CDR for that.
@@Prze1999 My Technics RS-B965 had the same issue with the little gear being out of alignment and I did make a video of that repair a few years back. The reason it doesnt go into play could be a control issue, basically capacitors go bad and when pressing buttons it wouldn't respond. That is the latest issue I have now with the Panasonic 🤣
I think the person who made the video got this right. Firstly other Tecnics units came badged as Panasonic e.g. the DAT. Also, the person who made the video pointed out that the Panasonic 965 has at least one key difference from the Technics 965 i.e. a remote control sensor - they are two different models and not a badge swap.
Well, yes, Panasonic is more similar to the Technics RS-B965 that is a Built-to-order, Japan only model. Aside for the remote control sensor ( and remote itself), it has an Amorphous Z head and that means that two resistors on the audio board are also different due to the head value difference). And yes, the color/finish. I have had Technics version too but to tell you how much of a difference in sound there is, I couldn’t to be honest.
It would have been useful if you were able to tell the viewers whether they worked or not. What a pointless video.
True, I haven’t said much about the actual function of the curtains. Aside from obvious ( blocking the sunlight ) they did eliminate most of the reflection that I would get from the smooth and flat surfaces ( glass window and metal radiator heater element ). Unfortunately I do not have any fancy measuring equipment to be mor scientific regarding the frequency spectrum that is being affected by those curtains but a channel here named “Darkoaudio” did a good report on those curtains and did some gauging of how much they actually absorb ( frequency ). All I can say now after having them for some time, much less of the bouncing frequencies, room feels more neutral and I would say bigger. Hope this helps a little and puts me on your good side 😊

These curtains are a scam. They do absolutely nothing.Super thin, you can literally see through them. It's a single piece of fabric that you can see through!

@@nads_Well, main purpose for any curtain is blocking the sunlight and helping with privacy, and that they do well 😇. DarkoAudio did a thorough test of these and he’s got some scientific results.

@@technics-n-thuiast8346 i have looked at a lot of technics stuff and all the time its just a long combination of letters and numbers.
I recently bought one on impulse in a charity shop, had the matching equalizer as well - Haven't hooked the equalizer up yet (the flashing lights are tempting though!). It really sounds brilliant, and im just using it as a desktop amp, with a set of small B&W speakers😁 Mine has some scuffs and scratches, but I suppose that comes with the age - nothing too bad though, but not as nice looking as this one.

Well, major difference is a head. But that is not all. Bias frequency on Technics 80khz, but on Panasonic 210khz. So Panasonic is more advanced deck.

Thank you for the video, I have one of these and problem I am having is that chrome and metal cassette not being detected, when I touch the cassette bay area and touch the upper side, it lights up the metal and Cr light on the display monitor. Have you seen such an issue before ?
Thanks for your comment. If your cassette door closes properly it is probably micro switches on the top. I think I show them in my Panasonic RS-B965 repair videos. Try cleaning those. Good luck.

@@dng6095 Sorry for the late replay. I think they did block some outside noise but keep in mind I have a double glassed windows too and have regular curtain behind this one too. It will for sure help I just cant say how much.

Hello, RAK-SL5006W is the designated remote. Bare in mind, some other ones will work too, the ones for the SL-PS50, SL-PS70 for sure.
Really like the sound of this CD player, the sound is not at all "spiky"
Frankly, this was the worse CD player I had by Technics. SL-PS900 and SL-P999 are far better performers. Please check one of those out, you won’t regret 😊

Попробуйте ваши Audiovector совместить с усилителеи Densen. Очень гармоничная связка получится. Я слушаю старые М3 и densen beat b-100. В идеале конечно, лучше 130, но нет возможности купить.

I bought my SU-V900 for 50Euro in 2010. Driving 2 AT-100 with it, and it drives them good. Finally figured out what was messing up the sound, I just have to work the input selector back and forth and it will sound good (It was making weird playback like something was making poor contact, now I know what it was). I will never part from this amp, or speakers, I think they get unfairly bad rep, but then again I'm no audiophile. Quality video, thanks, I like the setup.
You were lucky, those amps went up in price nowadays. Working examples are in $600 game or more. I have modified it a bit with Japanese components as well as the SU-MA10. Great configuration they use. Enjoy yours and thanks for your comment 😊

You should replace or enforce the gear, because there is a reason it was not in place anymore. There is probably a crack in it.
I did check it, there was no cracks and it still works. Gear ⚙️ just gets misaligned due to some white lithium grease getting on the shaft and lubricating it where it shouldn’t causing slipping and shifting down the shaft. Cleaning everything and aligning it again fixes the problem. Sure, one ca always resource to a neew gear ⚙️ and feel safer that way with the repair and longevity of it.
