Hiking Craters of the Moon National Monument
I would like to live there, but it is out of reach financially for me. At least I could afford to backpack around the island.
Did you do any fishing?
looks fantastic. thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Did you use anything to protect food from bears (or visa versa :)?
frick ya! big chillin'
Very beautiful and inspirational. Thank you!
Amazing! What month? And how many people did you see?
August 2021! There were some thruhikers and others on the PCT. Not many on the other trails but some were camped at Buck Creek Pass.
great trip great job all the lake up there love abc lake
Great backpacking adventure. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful!!! What great pictures, that must have been an awesome trip. Dreaming of my next fastpacking trip and stumbled upon your video. My first trip was last summer, around 24 miles also on the PCT, but up near North Sister. What is the bug net/tarp setup you have? It looks very spacious! (A little better than a bivy 😂)
Everyone always makes a B-line from the NE to the south. The best is on the west side.
God’s country.. I’m pretty sure one of your videos inspired me to do the Babyface (clockwise) loop (2021) down to the Chetco, then back up where it splits where you headed to Taggerts. Obviously h2o management is key. Girst time I hiked w an umbrella. Cheers
Well done Eric!
Lots of very spectacular country-an impressive year of special runs. Congratulations on achieving a major goal!
Awesome! Congrats Eric
Read Revelation 4:10. You will be able to relate.
The Knife Edge has also been called the Rooster Comb.
You discovered the Upper Cispus Basin!! I first camped there in July 1979 hiking the PCT over Old Snowy Mountain on my way to White Pass.
I have made twelve trips up into the Stough Creek Basin starting in 1981. It was as you describe it, including the mosquitos - beautiful, serene, great trout fishing and solitude. I went up again in 2017 for my 70th birthday. Thanks to Men's Health Magazine and the internet it was like a shopping mall. We almost could not find a place to pitch a tent and the fishing was terrible. But I am thankful for the trips I have made there with my sons and other friends. It is the most beautiful place I have been. Thanks for the video.
Any Bigfoots up around there?
Thank you for this excellent video!
Great video. It is about the Winds and not about the video creator. I was looking for a video of the area to see the terrain. Thank You, keep making videos like this
This is really beautiful. So many great shots, and the music sets it all off perfectly. Thanks for this video journal of your trip and for the nice overview of the trail!
Brings back so many memories, I use to camp/fish at willow lake for a couple days every August. That was over 30 years ago. Hoping to retire back home in the next few years after so many years away.
Awesome video ! This has been on my bucket list. When did you do this? And why did you choose the Indian Creek Trail instead of the White River Trail at the beginning of your hike?
Thanks! August 2021. I don’t remember exactly why but I think the White River Trail wasn’t a very maintained then or maybe most of the other people doing the loop seemed to use Indian Creek. It’s a great loop. There are also options on the East Side. I took High Pass but Lyman Lakes would be nice too.
very good film, but as always the music is unnecessary. This wilderness area is in serious need of expansion into silver and indigo creeks.
Kalmoipsis has some tough hikes but there are some beauty spots that are out of this world. It's a learning experience to spend time in those mountains. There are some people trying to improve the trail system: Siskiyou Mountain Club. The botanical stuff is very important, even though fires have chared the ridge tops.
I live in Cave Junction and am now considering hiking this trail. Thanks for showing bro.
How did you get more food? Are there many stores along the way?
It’s very remote. After a few days, a boat ride is needed across the Bay of Islands. I got a ride into Corner Brook to buy more food.
It looks like a fun way to explore the vast mountain wilderness. And the views are truly spectacular!
Nice Work! love that loop
Breathtaking scenery! Thanks for taking us with you!
Great trip, great video. Thank you.
Top-notch photography!
I'll take the mountains over the crazy city with even crazier people.
Just great until the Bible Verse at the end. Why mix reality with fantasy? Never worked for me and I was born into a bible thumpin' home ... nothing worked ... nothing!!! ... pure trash, like most things made up by humans, pure junk. The worst part about it is that this verse is true, you simply do not need a fairy tale booklet to tell you that.
Thank you the comment. It’s a meaningful verse for me. Glad that you agree with it😊
We walked from Briggs Creek to overlooking Pine Flats this last weekend in a day trip. We want to go back for an overnighter. Thanks for showing the rest of the trail.
Hoping,Praying to go next week. A bit confused about the trail to Cloud Peak after leaving Mistymoon. Beautiful pictures and scenery...
www.alltrails.com/trail/us/wyoming/cloud-peak?p=50677703 Hope it goes well! Part of it isn’t really a trail. Alltrails shows the route. I remember quite a few boulders but the view from the top is amazing!!
@@ericmoll1303 That looks like the route I saw as well. Isn't there a small waterfall within a mile or two after passing Mistymoon Lake? Was considering camping there on day 1 so the climb would be easier on day 2 and give time to reach the lakes afterwards. Think I've got a decent idea. Thank you so much...

Every year my brother and I hike this loop or at least some of it, last year we only hit the west side of it hiking from willamette to lava. This is a very special and incredibly beautiful area I look forward to hiking in all year, this is one of the best videos on the sisters loop. It makes me wish I was there now
