W I L D is an electronic music project with hardware instruments played live. Compositions from Laurent Hilairet, under Creative Commons. All is DIY, from sounds, music to videos. I try here to make a bridge between music and natural landscapes, organic sounds for organic pictures.The compositions are pattern based and influenced by the work of Rival Consoles, James Holden, Tim Hecker, Sigur Rós, Nils Frahm, Steve Reich, Eliane Radigue and many others.

Back from Corsica, I made that track with my Random Source Serge system (upper part) and Dreadbox Nyx (bass).
All sequenced by Seq 8 XL + Intellijel Scales + Shifty.
The melody is played alternatively by GTS and NTO thru RES Eq.
Lamitu is the name of the river where took the video.

As my rack becomes more and more serge oriented, the new GTS found easily a place . First patch with it, using left side for "reverse" envelope, right side frequency division of the NTO, all summed in the mix section white noise for NTO's Vari shape modulation. The bass part is played by GTO, using both sides to mimic an harmonic oscillator.

First track with my new GTO from Random*Source. The sequence is played by NTO thru Steady State Gate and VCFQ, modulated by the left side of GTO. The rigth side is in cycle mode too on a static note, and triggers a part of the DUSG, modulated by SSG for undertones. Effects from the wonderful Xaoc Devices Sarajevo and intellijel Spring ray modulated by the left side of DUSG.

Trying those three new modules alongside my Verbos gear. Foundation Oscillator on bass, NTO DUSG on lead thru Toppobrillo Multifilter2. effects: Multi-delay, Desmodus Versio. SSG : enveloppes length variations, sequence variations and sub-harmonics variations on the right side of the DUSG.

I just bought some Serge modules and really like their tone and behavior, especially the DUSG. Here a simple melody and one effect at the end, a lot of feedback patching.

In this video, I tried to patch the Toppobrillo Sport Modulator 2 in the way it can react as a complexe wave shaper/frequency divider. Here is the second part of Sound Exploration with the Steady State Gate from Steady State Fate. A musical approach around that module, making an ambient /lo-fi track . First part with raw sounds to the final "produced". The SSG envelope is used for ducking effect on the drone part, at the end of the video.

Discovering new paths with the new Verbos Polyphonic Envelope. The behavior of the module can "morph" a patch and make some parts appear or hide them depending of the settings. The drum is the Vermona DRM1 MK IV. I like that raw sound !

Very nice! Some say it sounds like one thing, others like another. It reminds me of deadmau5 :) I just got myself a Lyra-8 FX, and achieved ridiculously cool bass tones by running a sine wave into it, then hard modulation on Time 1 and 2.

so thick! The drones...generated by Mangrove and Harmonic Oscillator, sweep through the engulfing darkness... where light is extinguished and the air feels suffocatingly thick... Ambient music pulses with a chilling, rhythmic force... echoing the cold precision of these instruments... As the drones dart and glide through the murky void... shadows churn and stretch... creating a tense, foreboding atmosphere... where the silence is fraught with an almost palpable menace...

I think I'm falling in love with this module. It seems like it can be both aggressive and sweet. I hear a strange peaking sound when you move the filter but at the same time for this very reason it has character. Anyway, it's a very nice demo

Nice, how do you patch the sport modulator to get the grainy noise?’
Thanks ! If I remember correctly, I send some noise to in ( Sport Modulator 2) and triggers the S/H circuit with the same white noise, something like that. You can obtain the same results, with the Intellijel quad VCA: send noise to in and and to CVin of the same channel, varying the response and amount will vary the amount of grains.

I personally dont get the hype. The mangrove just doesnt sound that interesting to me. Especially for the price.
Hey! Lovely jam :) How would you compare those two synths? I was considering getting a minitaur as my main fat analog synth but ended up with a Nyx instead, since I found one at a great price!
thanks, they are totally different, Minitaur is bass range focused, and Nyx is a complete synth in compact format.

I'm thinking of getting the Antidote to process my guitar .... for a more resonant and plucky sound with faster attack .... but will I retain the pitch of my note? Do you have an idea of what would happen?
Those type of analog effects do not change the pitch of your instrument. But, if you put "full wet" on a chorus, it can sound as a vibrato. Those time based/phase based effects respect your signal.

Hi! Second video I see on this module and something question's me regarding stereo, hope you don't mind me asking? Is it the module's design or your choice to have your sound panned to the left? Cheers!
Hi ! This module has a strange stereo image due to the fact it uses a different filters offsets for each side. So there is always a side that sounds brighter/louder than the other.
