Lament for two violas Franck Bridge
Great!!!!
Pianist: Ohad Ben-Ari (in case anyone missed it at the beginning)
Not my favorite. But still beautiful
christ that dark tone is just gorgeous
❤
🔥🔥
❤❤❤❤
Just lovely.
Amihai Grosz is fabulous technically, and plays a wonderful viola. But this performance falls short of the one by Adrien Boissseau, Viola and Gaspard Dehaene, Piano, also on RUclips who really understand late Brahms.
Wer ist der Pianist?
Esta es una sonata para violín Y piano. No es una sonata para violín con acompañamiento de piano. Digo esto porque no figura el nombre del pianista.
excellent young viola player. Pity the sound quality is so poor that you miss out on a lot of the subtleties of the performance.
Quasi parfait ! une remarque cependant , les deux musiciens sont trop inexpressifs , pas assez heureux de jouer une telle œuvre .
Beautiful ! Vielen dank’ Amihai !
So beautiful.......
So beautiful! You have such a wonderful tone and sense of phrasing and musical direction. Please upload more and please come to Brazil! ❤️🇧🇷
Amazing!
Played that first phrase like a badass!
At last a really good violist!! Such an expressive instrument with great range
Очень приятное исполнение! Спасибо.
The 2 musicians could pass for brothers! Are they? or cousins maybe?
This is lovely, Beautiful sounding in all respects. Around 17:58 something extra special happens to the sound, something magical, that just took my breath away--as if the room itself purred. The complicity between violist and pianists, equals in this work, is superb--their re-entry at about 17:09 is perfectly calibrated, so tender and expressive... My old teacher had a Gasparo da Salo viola, unlikely that it's this one, but the sound of those instruments in the hands of players who can handle them, oh myyyyyyy....... Thank you to the players, to GdS, and to Brahms. We are so lucky to be able to come on RUclips and hear such glories.
Pianist, singular. Sorry, typo-prone.
The pianist is not mentioned. Too bad.
Absolutely...it,s just as important..
Wonderfull have you a score?
Who plays the piano part?
beatiful!!

take a look at this piece for your recitals...fletapascual.blogspot.com/2022/10/chromatic-fantasy-for-viola.html
no encuentro el maravilloso video de la Rapsodia para Viola de Bohuslav Martinu, es sublime!
You can see (and hear) why Amihai Grosz is principal violist of the Berlin Philharmonic. Gorgeous tone and such expressive playing.
I can play this better in my sleep (I'm dreaming)
Blessed and excited to hear this!
this guy is the best violist of the greater toronto area
Not only of the GTA, but undoubtedly the best in all of Southern Ontario!
He’s very powerful on the Viola, great performance!!!
Excellent Like Zukerman
Amihai Grosz may be a lovely person but appears plainly arrogant.
I'm a lovely arrogant person too
Is that piano playing itself?
Huh? Is this meant to be an artistic comment?
This is the right way!! play the first piece octave lower!! No one would to hear a musician struggling with the intonation issue! And viola sings much more better on the lower diapason!!
Hmmm. What happened to the 16th notes in the last movement? They are not existing at all. 😆
GREAT PLAYING BUT POOR ACOUSTICS. POORLY RECORDED TOO. PIANO WAY TOO LOUD IN RELATION TO THE VIOLA. IT IS NOT NECESSARY OR SMART TO HAVE THE PIANO LID UP ALL THE WAY. THIS IS NOT A PIANO SONATA ACCOMPANIED BY VIOLA. WHEN WILL PIANIST LEARN!!!! GEEEEZE
Absolutely fantastic..we are so blessed to hear and watch him performing.
Nice work lads....
The most talented musician..my absolute favorite..David Link
I have corona virus, feel so bad, and this is wonderful pleasure for my soul. This composition is my favourite. ❤️
He always gives the most amazing performance..a true comsomite artist. We are so lucky to hear him...a real blessing...David Link
I agree with you his sound is gorgeous his phrasing is so fine... His tone can be very dramatic and very sweet as well... That is so hard, but he is a master... Lovely playing ❤️
He is such a comsomate musician with a wide range of repertoire...Bravo.
Lovely
Incredible performance! but why does he have a fine tuner on the C string?
I noticed that as well - Zuckerman does that, too. Maybe they are onto something?
@@karlwinkler66 the c string can be (depending on the string type and the viola) harder to tune with the pegs because of the strength of the string and also get out of tune faster so sometimes it makes sense to use a fine tuner there
