Ok the zombies edit I like it 😂, I’m doing my rotation In EM as a PA student. I love it , I can do 3 shifts a week 12 hours each go fast and you don’t have to do work at home. So much variety of cases cardio pulmonary msk obgyn psych so much.
Bruce! Amazing questions. Current MSW student and already thinking about the ways I can begin integrating VR into my practice in the future. Time to purchase a VR headset.
Hello i need your help my name usman ghani from afghanistan
Family practice residency, did only er for 20 yrs. I cant do it anymore!!!!! I cant do it anymore!!!!!! all you youngins, listen. Get a 401 k and buy aggressive etf and live frugally and retire at 50. The FIRE movement is perfect for ER docs. One of the worst things is if you go thru a divorce in your 40s or 50s, the judge sees your $275k income, and says "well, he is obviously going to make that forever." So you get killed in the divorce
I absolutely enjoyed this video thank you subscribed.
Sir do you earn 600k dollars a year as a psychiatrist? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for being honest about the career path. I’ve always felt pulled towards the field and now in the field still feel that desire and fulfillment regardless of income, but most my colleagues admittedly joined for the financial aspect and say the workload and emotional drain is not worth the money. I see it as exciting being somewhat of a medical detective whereas many others seem annoyed by the nuance of relatively subjective algorithms and datasets.
OMG ..... Iam suuuuuper hesitant between applying for psychiatry and EM ... Cuz if i go with psychiatry even i am interested i will miss the "medicine" But I don't like any other specific speciality But i like medicine generally And neuroscience
Thank you
Thanks for sharing!
I find EM interesting and multi-dimensional but am also scared to pursue it for the same very reasons.
If you liked psychiatry more then why did you choose ER
California State is the worst state to have a business
Can you be a mentor to someone trying to start a private practice, and what would be your fee for it.
Really Helpful! Thank you for providing this information
Now your are creating video to validate Stockholm Syndrome!
My parents living in CA say their medical care is out of pocket as well and many don't take insurance. This is a strange occurrence.
EM is pure hell. Probably the worst month during my TY year. So freaking happy to finally be where i belong, in psych!
Thank you so much for your video. Are there any updates since you posted it? thanks
Thank you this helps alot
how did u switch to psychiatry after being and ED attending? Did u do a another fellowship?
Good question, you have to do a psych residency. Most of the time you will get 1 year credit, and so psych residency will be 3 years instead of 4, but not guaranteed.
ED nurse. It can be a satisfying career for reasons shared here. The comraderie is missed. The rotating weekends and holidays, night shifts, the horrors of the ED become erosive. You do see a lot of suffering and death. Mental illness. I stopped telling others that I was a nurse because people want to discuss their health problems with you and tbh I didn't want to hear it on my days off. Basically, I was becoming apathetic and knew it was time for a change.
He quit because he would end up in the er as patient
I’m an emergency doctor, love the medicine, but patient attitude and expectations coupled with shift work had me on my way out
Thank you for the advice!
Thank you for sharing your experience. Every specialty has positive and negative sides. Emergency Medicine is an extremely important specialty too but some are not made for it. I loved Emergency Medicine but I was not made for this as I had the tendency to look into chronic conditions of patients. I am glad and happy that you have chosen where you feel you can fit in. All the best for your career in Psychiatry.
Hello! Quick question, how would you go back getting more reviews online for your business. I have a physical location so want to beef up my Google business profile.
And this or tms are what I've spoken to my psychiatrist and therapist
What we've spoken about being my best options
I found the spray to be way more affordable Bcbs covers spravato. It's 30-60 for me And they have payment assistance now. The iv, lowest price is about 400 per session. Some as high as 1000 for a session. They are trying to get the FDA and insurance companies to cover this. Pretty much all of my doctors recommend that I try it.
I really want to do ketamine therapy. I can only afford the spravato, though. The iv sounded like a better idea with the bit of research I did. And I so want to come off Valium every day. I would so much rather be able to cope without anything of course. But I am OK with only on bad days. The day before to the day after are always so hard when it comes to the full moon for some reason. Of course, there are theories. But I so wish to do the right type of therapy. I've had Panic attacks since 16. I'm 43 now. Help I really don't know where to go
Thank you for this great information! What does your payment plan look like for your practice?
Great!
Wth is happening to this company
I am wondering myself
In 2023 they sold "Calm" less than 10.000 times....at an estimated price of 50 USD...365 days of selling, take your calculator. you can put that amount on a pickup truck
I tried the coupon code for your course YTPP50 and the website did not recognize the code. Can you please assist?
Thank you so much! Can you tell me how much a psychiatrist can make in private practice please?
Great
Psychiatric is pseudoscience. Psychiatric diagnoses are scientifically useless.
Hiii doc
great, thank you for the info!
THANK YOU!
If you want to make real cash in psychiatry, limit your clinical work to just stay relevant in your medical knowledge (1-2 days per week) and focus on medical-legal expert work. There are COUNTLESS examples med-legal shrinks make well over 500K...If you're willing to grind and not whine about "a lack of balance in my life", you can make over 1 million as a psychiatrist...There are examples out there...They just don't flaunt it.
Thats a great point. They are usually not making youtube videos and disclosing it. Med-legal takes a bit of effort to start gaining experience, like anything.
Do you mean forensic psychiatrist?
@@tyruss. What I'm talking about can include forensic psychiatry, but it isn't limited to that subspecialty. That would lean more towards forensic private work options (i.e. becoming a court expert on criminal law cases). There are other options beyond forensic psych, and @brucebassi is right, it takes additional experience. For example, getting a second board certification as an independent medical examiner (ABIME), or getting some work experience doing personal injury, disability/return-to-work evaluations for law firms, insurance companies or your local state department is a good start. It does take learning additional concepts outside of traditional psychiatry, gaining work experience and loads of networking. But you can then leverage becoming a high-paid consultant outside of pure clinical work options. It's not for everyone, and there's nothing wrong with strictly doing clinical psychiatry as a gainful career. This is just one of many options in which a psychiatrist can leverage their skill sets and, with some additional training and experience, increase their income above typical salary ranges. Still, the bottom line to earning more is to work hard (yes, well beyond a typical 9-5 Monday to Friday work schedule) to stay competitive in the "market."
thx do onw with huberman @hubermanlab
I wish! I would love to talk to @hubermanlab
Hi great video I just would like to confirm if I’m not a psychiatrist but I want to open my own private practice would I be able to do this method and hire other therapist, psychiatrist, etc.? does your coaching program teach this?
Hi, parts of it you would not need to do in order to hire someone. If you already have the business entity then you do not need to do many parts of this. And yes I do talk about all these steps and break it down in the course and coaching
Thank you so much for this content, it is VERY helpful!
You’re welcome!
Have any of your recommendations changed since you posted this vid last year? Do you still use all of the vendors mentioned?
Hi, actually it has not changed! I still use all of them, and started using an AI app for note writing
That’s awesome! It means your systems are still working well for you! Super cool you’ve incorporated AI into your practice! You should make another vid on this topic! Btw your videos have been soo helpful in getting started in the process of figuring out how to start a practice! ❤
mmmmm horse tranquilizer
Great presentations! These relevant, calm, and insightful strategies are very meaningful. Thank you Dr. Bassi!
Thank you I appreciate your feedback
A very informative interview
Bro does not make me want to be a psychiatrist anymore 😭 there’s so much negative stuff, like I wanna be one to help others…. But wow. I’m only 14
Sorry about that. Just need to be honest and tell the full picture. There are many positive aspects of psychiatry that I talk about in my other videos. Psychiatry is a great field.
Thank you for the honest review
Except for the Bible. IMO.
