Was able to pick up some cedar logs from my county in MD after tree trimming went through. Good stuff sir.
please don't ruin that beautiful hewing axe.! The eye will open and the handle will be loose!
This was just what I needed to see! I am about to have 4 Red Cedars taken down. I'm going to go with the small family owned tree company that will build these types of garden beds for me right where the trees come down!!! Incredible JOB!
I can't stand to see you beat on those broad axes with a steel hammer. Get some cheap splitting mauls or make some wooden ones. They aren't making 100 to 150 year old broad axes any more. Ouch.
Great video.
and a left wing tree kissing interviewer ask why not use plastic well the idiot bitc does not know that plastic pollutes the earth more than antything hello
Looking to carve spoons in cedar. Do you need special carving tools just for this kind of wood? Is cedar wood safe for food serving?
I make spoons I find the heartwood brittle for spoons ...raw linseed spoons instead of mineral oil it dries hard mineral oil doesnt
The birds sit on the branches of pine trees and fences and plants cedar Berry seeds when the poop. That what I notice in my 50 years of cutting cedars.
The is the best information I have seen on the topic. I am getting ready to harvest cedar for posts. I have seen conflicting instructions either to set the posts upside down or in the same orientation they grew. Which do you reccomend?
Fat end down char it good first all the way up till just above ground
Osage Orange....You Can Bury It For 5 Years....Dig It Up...Still Rock Hard....!!! Mulberry Is It's First Cousin....!!!!

I would take a flap sander take off outer bark then use Thompsons water seal, copper naphenate on bottom
I don't like Thompsons but to each there own charming is best can also dip in foundation coating
My adventure with the tree began with projects from Woodprix.

Your great with the chain saw. I like to learn more about how to handle one myself, thank you. More please!
How long do you let it dry before boarding it? Just to keep sap from gumming up your chainsaw?
I use alot of dead cedar not alot of sap
1 year per inch thickness is a standard rule of thumb for most live felled trees
Thousands of lifetime projects with Woodprix plans.

best wood for bows is the yew. The fact that its a sacred tree from morocco to russia and from england to turkia has something to say
Just found and subbed to your channel. 4:44 is one of the sweetest, truest, and most sincere things I've heard said in quite some time. Thank you! By the way, your cedar raised beds are a great idea. I plan on making some this summer. Thank you again and God bless.
Thank you
You have a bit more arse than your friend for that kind of log lilting! 😆
Osage orange doesn't rot very easy it seems to get harder as it gets older outdoors

Great tips thank you so much for sharing this important information listening from Bangs Texas
“ Why don’t you make things out of plastic”? Lol, yeah plastic is really great for the environment lady LOL. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but chairs, and tables, and fence posts, made out of plastic are really durable. Much more than wood. Just like plastic forks are better than metal forks. The metal forks just bend when you use them. The plastic forks are really strong and you don’t have to worry about them breaking and sticking into a big juicy steak.😂😂 other than that funny comment, you did good Karen!
❤️😇
Keep going...Thanks...
Lol
Right on man. So aim for the 4x4s for posts?
Exactly
It’s only like 30kg or 25kg
the last one is but big logs are like 90 or 100 i weigh them and wow
