Ron would appreciate if you would review this video to brush up on your skills ...basically to save him from a possible stroke 🤣
Is there a need to wear a hard hat with a cab?
this video is great.
I run a champion 710a once a month for over 1 mile. Its a great machine but the controls are a little slow
This master peace ,to learn everyday,,old Nd modern cat,,it's a powerful machine I enjoy,,Kabwe zambia
funny - I recognized this area not far from Ellis, Kansas where I used to run all those dirt roads.
Are you hiring
thanks
Please I need job am a motor grader operator
Back in the 1960's we lived very rural as in no neighbors for miles. The road was gravel and seemed like every summer the township graded the roads to bring them back after a winter of snowplowing. They also used their red Austin Western to clean out the ditches. As a young boy I loved watching them work. When they purchased a Gradall I was in heaven. I remember watching that Gradall being used on steep banks and in ditches it was unbelievable.
Run a grader for 11 years and was still finding another function it would do. I loved it what you could do was admazing. My work will be seen 50 years from now
This is the way my Father taught me 20 years ago.
I am student havy Equipments mostly moter graeder
Can you do this with any graters ??
Pot holes
ahhh a government video...so basically wrong and half assed....thats why anything the government touches is full of garbage...government workers couldn't make it in the real world... your tax dollars at work folks..
Awesome grading love it love to see other grader skills
Very good
This video has been VIEWED by every CalTrans operator. But nothing has been learned or utilized by ANY CalTrans operator!
I think they use subcontractors
Very good 👍
Its a feel thing as is most moving machinery. You can give people all the book knowledge you want, and yet so many operators completely stink...I know the basics of boxing and yet would get owned by raw talent.
I could possibly see this as a third career choice. Looks like it would be challenging and in many cases you're working alone which I prefer.
I run a grader during winter operations. I’m always very careful to bench the snow way up as your drifts the next storm will be worse. I also lift my wing up a little so there is a defined shoulder. I plowed a road once and I left the road looking like a 50’ wide freeway. Cars couldn’t see the ditch vs the road and I had people off the road. I learned to just lift the blade closest to the grader about 6” so traffic has a line to define the edge of the roadway.
Very good job
I run an old 160H in Manitoba Canada. Great advice!
That is full course
When I was a kid back in the day I saw two grader operators running old 12 E’s put their mold boards together to form a ‘V’ and matched their speed while cleaning out big parking lots. When the snow they were pushing built up and got to heavy they just steered away from each other. I’ve never seen anyone do it since and I never had the nerve to try it with anyone while running expensive modern machines but watching them do that has always stuck with me. Those were the men back then who spent their lives on graders blading gravel roads in summer and snow in winter, guys who ended up with hearing aids later in life from those noisy old beasts.
only real men can do this technique
im only in college for heavy equipment, but been trying to do this now for the past couple days. shit aint easy. Maybe its where i only have 5 days on a grader, but i feel a bit nervous doing this. feels like im about to tip over. Hopefully with more time and practice i get the hang of it
Ausgezeichnet 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Like 👍👍👍
These machines are so incredibly versatile. I haven't operated heavy equipment but a grader looks similarly difficult to operate as a walking excavator.

Gud class indeed
Great Tips Thanks For The Advice 😉👍🏽
Thanks for the lessons. I am a motor grader operator of a 140 G at Del Monte Philippines Inc.
For first time I do know about all these functionality the grader has.. wish to have one only for funny purposes
I'm retired now,I operated a grader for 37 years,as good as you are,you never stop learning,i stared as a green horn,learned a lot from the older operators,finished as a finisher,great info
i want a turn on bulk finishing is a art.
Nothing but truth in what you said. If your not learning everyday, then maybe it's time to get out.
Very true, really with anything
80s gotta love it
Please shout out the heavy EQUIPMENT operator channel and subscribe thanks
Experience is the only thing
In the 70's I pulled into a town with an almost empty tank and no money. So I went to the employment office and asked for a job. He said "I've got one job, can you drive a backhoe"? I said "Yes". Cut a long story short, I worked through smoko, lunch and kept going after knock-off. Eventually the boss came out and pulled his thumb across his neck and waved me into his trailer. I'd already prepared my story about being rusty and different machines, etc. But when he said "You've never driven a backhoe before, have you"? His eyes told me to say "No Sir". I was wondering whether he'd pay me anything when he said "See you in the morning". He added "Have you eaten"? "No Sir", "Got any money"? "No Sir". He told me to see a bloke at the pub and gave me cash for fuel. There was two machines on that job, the other bloke was pretty good according to him and the other workers but when we finished that job a few months later I was faster and fussier than him. Experience does help but *_"Hard work"_* can and did trump experience.

So cool place! beautiful landscape very nice scenery thank you for sharing my friend stay blessed and safety
How many decades or years old is this video anyway? 50yrs perhaps
This model of cat grader was launched to the market in mid or late 90's i think, so no more than 25 years
@@albertogarcia5276 There is a ©1997 and a relatively recent logo of Caterpillar at the end. Besides, the voice projection technique is relatively modern. So the recording was done just before HDMI
Well I learned all of this OJT! How helpful this would have been back then in 1990s
One of the hardest peace's of equipment to run other than a drag line.
Good job opérator garder
yes
Good job
👍
