for new kia and Hyundai trims with the 12.5" digital guage cluster, you can change it to dynamic theme in settings. very cool look and interactive with time and weather.

This is my first time owning a turbo car, and I just watched your cold air install. How entailed is the blow off valve install, and would you mind sharing a link to where you got the bov?..

Did you modify your blow off valve for the turbo to his like that? Or that’s just from the intake upgrade?
The sound in the video is from the intake alone. I have recently added a BOV to make it louder.

It will only work with the 2.5L turbo engine. If no turbo, will not work.

I see you’re in British Columbia, how did you get your weather to work on the dynamic cluster? I’m out of ideas. I have updated the software and linked my Kia connect to the profile. I just get the time of day backgrounds but no weather animations.

I also have that in my Kia Ceed (European Car) and I love it. Though sadly we're not having the "Full-Screen Animation" here. Just the few Droplets on the sides when it's raining. And vise-versa for the other Looks while it's snowing, etc. Not sure if there might be a hidden setting to activate it but hey. It looks fancy nonetheless.
BS installation. Sound is good but now you're losing power. It's gonna breath that HOT air from the engine bay vs the stock filter which gets the cold air from the outside.

...and how much horse power gained? Did you dino. Only reason to mod is for improvement, no?
The gains were aprox 16hp and 25lbft (according to K&N dyno charts). I mostly bought it for the look, sound, and ease of maintenance.
Mine’s not working. Does not change at all
You need to make sure your software is up to date. OCT. 2022 was the last one. Do an update, and it should work.
@@magneto_sx3021 got all the pending software updates and still not working. Dealership said they’ll speak with Kia engineers and get back to me 🤦🏽
@@smit_p4978did Kia ever get back to you about the issue? Mines not working either and Kia doesn’t know why.

What other performance mods are available for the sorrento
Only other 'performance' mods I know of is a JB4 tuner and slotted rotors. Everything else I see is cosmetic improvements. 😊
Probably voided your 10 year 100,000 mile power train warranty.😮
K&N systems are 100% warranty approved. Also, in Canada, our warranty period is only 5 year / 100,000km 😊😁
anything goes wrong you can just swap back to the old intake and bring it in. also there are laws in place that owners can use aftermarket parts on their cars without voiding the warranty. If something goes wrong, the dealer would have to prove the cause of the issue is the aftermarket part.
I was planning on upgrading to the 2022 Sorento 2.5T, from my 2018 Sportage SX. Test drove it, the Sorento is slow as shit. My sportage runs circles around it. Getting Santa Fe instead

@@juiceboxheroooo9752 I took it and the K5 GT for test drive. Not impressed with the Sorento. K5 GT with that motor/ paired with the DCT big difference. My Sportage has a tune and is modified.

I used to have that. But it no longer does the weather, rain snow etc. it’ll only do time of day…
You need to update your software. April's update fixed alot of these issues.
Does this work in Canada? I only get the time of day changes but not weather.

I had to add a gasket to seal the hood I had tons of dust and sand in there, do you think the open box filter design will be an issue where they use sand as winter abrasive ?
This kit is very open to the elements compared to box design. If your in a dusty area you will have to clean it alot more then normal. Also, I do believe you can get a 'sock' type cover for the cone filters.
Would this work on a 2022 kia GT with the 2.5l pretty much the same engine as what you have when I looked at mine not seeing much difference.
If it is the new Smartstrem 2.5L TURBO with the same pipe configuration, then yes it will work.

Saw your video last week. Ordered the intake the next morning and installed it the day after it came! Just wanted to thank you for “giving it a sound” lol. I was sold after hearing how awesome this $400+ unit allowed for more breathability and a significant audible increase of the turbo! I may have to do a video review here or on tik tok
How’s the difference in performance? Can you feel it? Where abouts in Canada are you? Houses in your hood look very similar to mine.
Can definitely feel the get up and go better. The extra 25 ftlbs is noticeable. I'm in Vancouver area. 😊

Yes, the Santa Fe has different gauges then the Kia's.

@@mijopest I'm sure someone will eventually. The sound in this is just the diverter valve. Not as pronounced.

This sounds so much like my Audi TT intake. I'll buy one for my k5 now. This is the best vid I've seen that actually captures the sound. Bms bov next , then midpipe and jb4.
Did you notice any change in hp or mpg? Also did the check engine light come on?
Nothing noticeable in HP, but it does feel more responsive with torque. Have not seen a change in MPG. No engine lights came on.
Definitely you gonna get nice sound and lose HP cause of the hot air intake.

I bought a used 14 optima sxl back in '17 and immediately threw an injen CAI on it. Only CEL i got was for the wastegate actuator which was a known issue. CAI was great for 5 years.
I heard you might have build up of oils on the maf sensor or map sensor I forgot which one it’s called on the air intake hose , is that an issue?

Great work, thanks for the video! You actually don't need to remove that intercooler pipe, you're able to access that hose without removal.
