...winter waiting for DCI... so I come back to this fantastic show -- what an opener! & still, love that snare solo. Hoping to see Blue Knights really bring it in '20.... see y'all at the Rose Bowl!

Yet another great musical show crapped up by narration that wasnt needed...sad
kwbboyer Well see what you're gonna do is reread the title and realize that Blue Knights literally always have narration. If you're waiting for a BK show without narration you're gonna be waiting about as long as if you were waiting for BD to actually move and play. Which is to say, a long time 😂

they don't always have narration....do they? i don't recall thinking they have it every year.
kwbboyer Yeah I mean all the new narration is kinda jarring at first but it makes their show theme a little less vague to understand so 🤷🏾♂️
truthviamusic I mean this show has a good amount, Great Event had a decent amount last year, Because didn't really have much besides the music but then That One Second had a bunch so 3 out of the past 4 years
Love this show, but hard to believe the flag work is not as clean as it should be this late into the season.
1049berkeley The guard was routinely learning massive changes around this time. In fact a large part of the guard wasn't even on flags until late in the season.
Entire guard was holding the corps back. And I am a huge BK fan.
BK had massive last-minute visual changes because it couldn't decide on the underlying meaning of the show. It was about the eye, and... and.. ?? Same with Cadets with Awakening, the statue show. They changed the show every week, like they were schizophrenic fashion designers. And the only thing it proved to the judges watching Cadets' show was that there was no "there" there. Awakening ended up being about statues coming to life, except for one guy at the end who wanted to remain a statue so he punched the other guy. Same as BK. No relatable underlying thematic argument. Beautifully played and passionately performed.
I live in a ci-ty (city) and have no desire to be "seen", show makes a big assumption about urban development.
The big guy emoting in during his solo at the beginning- just no.
