Hey 👋 so I hope u still checking on these ,but I just got a 2002 Lincoln LS, the sunroof was working,then all sudden it stopped it's stuck open and if I press up on the button it'll go close about 1 inch, but if I press forward on the button like normal to close it it opens up ,same when I press the back button does it's intended job , but idk if it's the motor cuz it'll close slightly,but then nothing

Did you have to initialize the sunroof after replacing the motors? I have a 2013 MKS EB and the Ford dealership replaced both my motors but after that: 1. The tilt switch slides the roof and the slide switch tilts the roof (the sunshade switch works fine). 2. The one touch feature does not work. 3. The global open/close feature does not work. Any ideas?

Hi Barn, Thank you for your video. I have problem with leaking moonroof. I did everything and the last thing I suspect is that one of the drain has been plugged by a leaf or anything along the hose that prevent the water from draining. Is it possible for you to show or to tell me HOW can I trace the water drain of the moonroof of my lincoln mks 2009? I love this car.

Hey, I watched your video. I have a question, my sunroof opened by itself and won’t close. When I hit the button I hear it click, the back part will open far as the back seat part but won’t close the front seat part. Do you think it’s the motor or fuse?

This video is better than nothing, so thank you for that! Now my car (literally packaged exactly the same as yours, colors and all) my sunroof works just fine, but it won’t auto-close when I pull the switch, I have to hold it closed both for fully closing it and for closing the tilt. Is this a switch issue or is there something else I need to concern myself with? Do you know? Admittedly this did start shortly after a dead battery situation.

Thank you for this I have a Mks the sunroof is leaking the motor needs to be replaced the dealership quoted me 1500 To fix it that's not including the leak!😳😳

Way to close it from tilt position? Initialized and it tilted but now won't close..

I actually did what you did and I just swapped the motors and then the motor for the sunroof started working in accordance with your instructions and then the sunscreen motor started working however when I went in to fall home closed position from there it wouldn’t do anything it actually stopped my sunroof from working because it was stuck all the way forward and would not come back

So I was able to follow your instructions and program the sunroof however I am not able to program the sunscreen in accordance with your instructions do you have any other instructions besides turning the power on and off and then back on and then you only showing to hold the sunscreen down once I’m not able to program it

Hi, I've only owned hondas in my life and one ford fiesta (bad because the transmission kept going out after 2yrs of use), but I'm thinking about buying a used Lincoln MKZ v6 4dr sedan from a car dealership for $9995, are Lincoln luxury vehicle really endless money pits as people say? Are the repairs and parts really that hard to find & are really expensive to repair? Plz let me know, my relative says to stay away from luxury cars and another one says to stay away from old American cars but i love the way Lincolns drive, esp. The 2015 i just test drove just this weekend...would u say to go with the 2015 or 2010 model to save $?

I unblocked my sunroof ( 2013 MKS) but how do I get the water out of the door?

I have a 2010 MKS same color and I'm having the same problem. the dealership charged me $149 for a new switch and I have the same problem comeback in under a week and they took it back friday morning while I went out of town, they called and said it was fixed It will be in the parking lot. Came back early Sunday morning picked up my car and it worked as usual but later that Sunday it would not close again. So tomorrow I will give it back to them for a third time.

I don’t know why they needed a motor to open the screen. Our town car had power sunroof with manual shade screen. What’s the big deal with just sliding it back with your hand.

Do you have the part number for the motor? Mine is a 2011, should be the same I think. Or a link to the part?

Hey, my daughter just bought a 2010 mks the sunroof is dropping on the passenger side but it won’t drop down on the driver side to go back it seems it’s maybe sticking on that driver side it will go up smoothly it seems the motor is fine I haven’t yet done anything I am thinking maybe something in the track stopping it if there’s something I am missing to look for please let me know while I am in there I’ll clean everything and the drains out also like you showed the car is in pretty darn good condition. If there’s something I can check also let me know Thanks 🙏

I love my MKS ecoboost but with your miles change out the PTU fluid ASAP. Mine failed at 72k and soon after the sunroof stopped working.

I have been looking for 3 years for a fix and have checked fuse and switch and all have power. I figured it was the motor. Cheap China stuff. Thank you so much for posting this.

Can’t thank you enough for the video. 👍🏻👍🏻 I replaced the sunroof motor in my 2013 one year ago. It has been fine until the other day when it started working sporadically. Now I never know when it’s gonna work or not. Do you think the motor I installed could be going bad?

Can I just manually close it? If so, how? I have no plans to ever use it again.

I had same problem. Sunroof stopped working then eventually water in the drivers floor. Board was fried, tubes plugged.,Not a terrible job but u did a good job on the video!

I have this exact same car (same color too) with the exact same problem! So both motors are the same and I can check to see if the moonroof motor is in fact the problem by switching them?
