Not commenting on this particular musician, but “fusion” is extremely difficult. It either sounds mostly Indian or mostly western. I know, I had a small fusion group in the 90s. I’ve only heard one musician who has done this well. He has his own YT channel, and is initials are PC . Enough said.

He has many students, enthusiastically embracing Indian Classical music, but he couldn’t convince his son to follow the tradition?

Too late to learn Sitar though i know some but i hope to learn singing more deeply. I really feel some voices are divine can put you to sleep. I may like songs of Bollywood but they dont put me to a peaceful sleep as i used to when i used to leave his Kabir and Amir Khusro songs on all night.

I simply love his ecstatic voice when he sings Sufi songs. They sound like coming from heaven. Just his voice is gifted divinely. 🙏🏻

The guy is talking and his voice is drowned by the sitar! I mean, you don’t even know the basics of doing a documentary. 😢 His father was probably the greatest sitar maestro the world has seen.

Khan Sahib Vilayat khan sahib was one of the greatest....but this gentleman is confused...either he should sing or play Sitar. He cannot sing worth a crap.
